For mains, I had Afghan Gravy with Butter Rice ($23.90) which comes with chicken in a creamy, aromatic and rich gravy infused with ginger, masala and fresh cream. The chicken is very tender and the butter rice is fragrant. The chilli that is served on the side helps to balance out the creaminess.

Cauliflower Popcorn ($9.90) consists of deep fried cauliflower drizzled in yoghurt sauce with a hint of garlic and mint. The batter is not too thick or oily, and the yoghurt sauce is pretty refreshing.

For appetisers, we ordered Baba Ganoush ($11.90) which features a flavourful spread made from roasted eggplant, garlic, lemon juice and various seasonings. It is served with a thin piece of pita bread that is akin to a wrap. Thought it could be a little more smoky but I still enjoyed this nonetheless.

Wok-tossed Laksa ($12) and Dry Mee Siam ($12)
Both noodles are fried with seafood and taupok/taukwa and they taste pretty similar. They are not bad, but didn’t leave much of an impression~

Bakwan Kepiting ($6 per portion)
Meatballs of pork, crab and bamboo shoots are served in a chicken broth that is packed with flavour - love this!

Ayam Goreng ($11/22)
The deep fried marinated boneless chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

Nyonya Ngoh Hiang ($16)
The deep fried pork and prawn rolls are fragrant and delicious.

Sotong Masak Hitam ($14/28)
The tender squid is cooked in an intense squid ink rempah - wasn’t expecting the wokhei but love it!

Premium Chap Chye ($12/24)
This is classic comfort food comprising cabbage braised with dried mushrooms, prawns, pork belly, gingko nuts, black fungus and glass noodles.

Ayam Buah Keluak ($15/30)
This is my all time favourite Peranakan dish.
The boneless chicken thigh is braised in a rich sauce and it goes so well with the nutty flesh of the buah keluak seeds.

Babi Pongtay ($15/30)
The slow-cooked pork belly in fermented bean sauce is soft and flavourful.

The set lunch is such a steal! I ordered Basil Pork with Rice and Egg ($9.90) and it came with a drink of your choice and mango sticky rice.

The basil pork is really good - I opted for non-spicy because I heard that it can quite spicy, but the stir-fried minced pork, basil and long bean was still very fragrant and tasty nonetheless. I had a generous glass of Thai milk tea and though the mango sticky rice was quite small, it was still nice to end lunch on a sweet note. Can’t wait to come back again!
