Prices are highish for a pretty basic eatery; the meat is good but not the best; after all these years, service is still haphazard. But it’s all worth it, because they definitely make the best fresh noodles in Singapore - so springy It energises! This mee is for me lah! Did the chefs who knead the dough undergo the same training as the master therapists who knead your feet at Footworks next door?

This mall is a bit of a labyrinth and is low traffic, so restaurants need to be really special to survive. Famous Treasure is in the location previously occupied by a London duck restaurant, which was good but not special enough. The signature dishes we tried were good: deep-fried pork belly, Assam fish head curry, crystal chicken, Chinese spinach. But were they unique? Let’s hope so, but time will tell....
