The Deoulgireum-Makguksu ($16) features a bowl of cold buckwheat noodles with perilla oil. This is quite light and goes well with the meat.

The Soondubu-jigae ($15) or tofu with seafood stew comes with tofu and clams and it is packed with umami.

We also ordered Truffle Duxelles Yangsongi Gui ($7.10 / 4 pieces). The grilled mushrooms stuffed with chopped mushroom and truffle oil are pretty good.

We ordered the small UYB Set ($81 / 470g) which consisted of pork collar, jowl and belly. The meat was really well-grilled (thanks to our table-side server) and it was tender, juicy and full of flavour. I was really impressed with the variety of condiments and side dishes that were meant to be paired with the meat, such as the anchovy sauce, barley makjang, and grilled white kimchi. The spicy, nutty, acidic and savoury flavours complemented the meat and cut through the greasiness.

Haven had such a satisfying jjambbong in a while! The Haemul Jjambbong ($21) features an intense seafood broth that is packed with flavour, and the amount of clams, mussels, prawns and squids is really generous. Love it💯!

I also tried Dry Ramen with Grilled Beef ($17.90). The grilled rib eye is tender and the Korean ramen is thick and chewy. This is tasty and not too salty - reminds me of Jjapaguri with steak as featured in the Korean movie Parasite (which I attempted to recreate during Circuit Breaker😂).

Gui’s Premium Rice Box ($18.90) features a dosirak (Korean lunch box) packed with marinated squid, stir fried Korean fishcake, luncheon meat, kimchi, seaweed, a sunny side up, picked radish and rice. I gave the lunchbox a good shake and everything is mixed together into a delicious bilbimbap. The portion is very generous and this is one satisfying lunchbox!

The Kimchi Stew with Pork ($19) is excellent - it is full of flavour and packed with ingredients. Although the soup is a tad oily, it goes really well with the multigrain rice. The kimchi stew comes with kimchi, tofu, pork belly, mushroom, vermicelli and tteokbokki (rice cake). The kimchi has absorbed the flavour of the broth completely and it is super soft and tasty.

The sides are great too, and there is even complementary kimbap. Overall, the food is authentic, delicious and generous - would love to come back again!

We ordered Halla Mountain Braised Pork Spare Ribs ($79) again, except that this time we tried the non-spicy version. The fork-tender pork ribs, vegetables and mushrooms absorb the rich broth thoroughly and are very flavourful. However, I still prefer the spicy version for an extra kick.

We also ordered Dombae Gogi ($45) which is boiled pork belly slices. The ratio of meat and fat is just nice and there is no strong porky taste - this goes really well with kimchi.

I tried the Abalone Porridge ($30) and it is sooo good. The porridge is smooth, flavourful and full of umami - can’t get enough of this!

We ordered Jeju Style Gogi-Guksu (pork soup with noodles - $17) and Bibim Noodles (spicy cold noodles with veggie and pork slices - $18). The spicy cold noodle was very refreshing (perfect for the current weather!) and the pork soup with noodles was comforting and reminds me of mee sua. The side dishes were delicious too.
