SOD SPECIAL BEEF BURGER-
Would love to have the beef more rare then well done and the egg to be runny than firm. Could have some greens on the plate.

SPICY FISH N CHIPS-
Promising on good quality, they used a rare pink snapper as compared to other fish n chips. Batter was flaky thin with thick and juicy fish. The sambal belachan(we assumed) compliments the fresh fish well.
CHILLI CRAB PIZZA-
Thin crust pizza always leave you room for other food. Would expect more kick from the chilli.

SMOKED DUCK PASTA-
This turns out to be our favorite of all. The smoked duck is cut into smaller pieces that is paired with alfredo cream spaghetti and topped with generous amount of bonito flakes. Ohhh, and that runny poached egg. Would be better with penne though.

is one of the places we started off reviewing in the early days of our mystery dining journey. It is also one of the few that impressed us with their creativity, food quality and service.

Two years back while I was producing a local charity tv programme, the owner, Annie readily sponsored us log cakes for the folks at Red Cross.
As i visited them after a long while, to my surprise, Annie still remembers me! As we catch up through the meal, i could sense that her passion for this industry is still on fire. The passion not just for the bucks, but serving quality food to her customers.

Beef Stew $10.80++(2%svc + 7%gst)

Five loaves and two fishes depicts the miracle that Jesus performed to feed thousands with just five loaves of bread and two fishes. I believe that is the mission of the restaurant too. Hiring under privileged personnels to serve speaks about their purpose.

I was transfixed when all food and drinks were served 5 mins upon order and all came simultaneously.

I would order a beef stew whenever i see them on a menu without hesitation and it never fails my expectations. The beef briskets were simmered to perfection with a rich broth. The texture were tender yet not losing the bite you expect from a good beef. I could whip up 2 bowls of rice with that. I would personally advice them to add carrots and potatoes to enhance the flavor and contrast.

Remember to return your tray not just to get the $1 back but to help the under privileged to work in a better environment.

With the country in the patriotic mood, restaurants, cafes and even fast food are dishing out iconic and signature local infused items.

As soon as the spiced chai latte was served, i could smell the aroma of the spice a distance away from the cup. There was a good balance between the spices, milk and espresso shot. So my expectations were high for the nasi lemak waffle.

When it arrived at my table, i could have smelt a whole plate of nasi lemak if i was blindfolded. And the turn off came when i cut into the sides of the cutlet and see pink parts and i was sure there were even more in the thickest part of the chicken and i was not wrong.
Highlighted that to the two staffs whom were chatting behind the bar and they apologised and offered to change a new plate. 15 mins later, a new plate was served and i could see holes on the chicken as the chefs wanted to be sure that it was fully cooked and i really appreciate that effort. The waffle was soaked in pandan flavor with ikan bilis topped. However, the waffle soften and was soggy after the chicken has been resting on it.
Proceed to bill and staffs treat it as the uncooked chicken did not occur. Texted Montana on IG and even messaged them at their number on FB but no response for 3 days. Was quite disappointed with their non-chalant service attitude.

The sauce that is mixed with Tom Yam and Salted Egg does not dominate each other but compliments. Comes with prawns, mussel and chicken cutlet. Defintely worth the dime! .
BUT...Be the 1st 49 customers every day this week for lunch from 1130pm and dinner from 630pm and you get to order it at $9.90!

After tasting the 卤肉饭 at Expo by 8度空间 a few days back, i had cravings for that these few days. After church service today, i decided to try it out at @toastboxsg. However it was a far cry to the one i had in Expo. What followed after a bit of the meat was pure saltiness. Well, i thought i had not stir well with the rice, but it is still very salty. The braised egg was the same. What's worse is the egg might have been over cooked or over night egg that was very hard in texture. I believe you would be able to see the water droplets and small air holes on the surface of the egg which shows that it is either refrigerated over night or over cooked.

Quite a dissapointment.
