Westies
Added Golden mushrooms ($3.50), Konjac($3.50) and Long Cabbage ($3.50). The Konjac came separately but what surprised me was that the golden mushrooms and cabbage were hidden within the fish. Chose this dish as we were afraid that the other flavours were going to be too spicy for us to handle and this was the only non-spicy, non-numbing choice. This was on the salty side so it definitely needs white rice to balance out the saltiness. Although we cannot handle foods that are too spicy, we do think this dish could add little spiciness as the saltiness itself makes it a bit jelak after a while. The addition of the golden mushrooms were pretty good call though as it soaks up the sauce really well. The fish was also of a pretty good size too. Overall not too bad.
Grilled eggplant topped with garlic and all sorts of spices. It was on the saltier side and the skin was a bit tough but a unique dish regardless, good for a change from the usual dishes.
✅ Grilled Chicken Midwings
Surprisingly good. Mainly because it was served hot and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Tasted like they were fresh off the grill. Delicious!
✅ Grilled Mushrooms ($1.87++)
Something I would nvr order again. These were way too tiny. Although it’s $1.90, it was pathetic. Taste is fine but nothing outstanding. Small portion with a mediocre taste...no thank you.
Crispy on the outside and completely stuffed with tuna and cheese. I managed to have get the cheese pull while eating too! But then again, tuna, cheese and mayo...what is there that could go wrong? Yummy!
The flavoured rice tasted like a pretty fragrant chicken rice to me. This dish is on the spicy side but it was pretty tasty
Ordered this dish not knowing that it was beef because my family don’t eat beef. However, the salsa and cheese that comes with the dish was enough for us to polish the chips. Really liked the mixture of different types of chips and the refreshing salsa!
✅Rosemary Chicken with Emmental Cheese Croissant ($7.50++)
Buttery flaky croissant is filled with chicken mayo. The rosemary is pretty aromatic. Tastes good but not outstanding to wow about.
✅ Cookie Crumble Cheese Cake (6.50++)
I don’t think it is possible to go wrong with this cake. Rich creamy deliciousness!
✅Satay Chicken roll ($6.90++)
One of the creative food items launched by Starbucks in celebration of Singapore’s 54th birthday. Perfectly toasted buns filled with fresh chicken and pineapple chunks in a nutty satay sauce. Absolutely delicious!
Cold green tea noodles with black pork tempura drenched in garlic chili oil and their house-special spicy sauce. I would call it Japanese style mala cold noodles. The flavour is nice but it is quite rich too, which might get a bit jelak after a while. Despite being mixed with the noodles, the black pork tempura managed to retain its crispiness till the end which is commendable. Overall, a unique and delicious dish!
One of the newer sushi options in Ichiban Sushi. I have forgotten what sushi was on the right plate as it was not as delicious as the Crispy Dory Maki. Fried Crispy Dory Fish with Cornflakes, cheese, bonito, seaweed flakes, shrimp roe and mayonnaise, which gives the sushi a mixture of textures. The menu stated that the sushi contains a spicy sauce but I didn’t taste much spiciness to it. Regardless, the flavour was still pretty good in my opinion and it is a good option for those who don’t eat raw fish.
Here we have:
✅菜脯鱼头 Chai Poh Fish Head 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
✅马来风光 Sambal Kangkong
✅芋头扣肉 Braised Pork Belly with Taro
✅咕噜肉 Sweet and Sour Pork
These 4 dishes with 4 plates of rice totals up to be S$50, which is pretty reasonable considering the portion sizes. It is not my first time here but a must order every time I am here is their 菜脯鱼头 Chai Poh Fish Head. Extremely huge, meaty, fresh and flavourful fish head. Simply amazing. There are no words that I can use to describe it. Just come here, try it for yourself and you will know what I mean. Delicious is an understatement! At least for me 😋

Another appetiser that I got as a set with the drink. Served chilled. Doesn’t look like much but this dish has more flavour than the cucumber appetiser. In my opinion, it is not so much about the flavour for the appetisers but the crunchy and refreshing nature that opens your appetite before the noodles or cleanse the palette during the meal
Ordered this appetiser and a drink as a set with my ramen for an additional $3.20. Not much flavour to be honest but it is refreshing and crunchy especially when you need sth to cut the richness of the noodles
