Hua Bee Restaurant (78 Moh Guan Terrace) is known for a few things. That the 1995 local movie Mee Pok Man was filmed here and in recent years, a Japanese kushiyaki joint - Bincho operates out back in the evening after the mee pok stall is closed.

Here’s the bowl of mee kia (though I ordered mee pok, and the aunty got my order wrong) from Hua Bee. The noodles were a little sticky, clumped together I had to add the soup to separate them, vinegar indiscernible and the chilli didn’t pack much of heat (had to asked for extra). The noodle was really al dente and I love the slurp. The ingredients were generous in their bowl of soup, but nothing was particularly outstanding.

Typically I ain’t so much of a local person and I’ve not patronize this place for the longest time but I must say that they does keep to their standard. Their noodle is al dante to local style not the usual “ramen” kind of slurps, it’s more dedicate as compare and you might have sauce splash all over if you're not gentle. The small size is good enough unless you’re really hungry, you might probably wanna go for either $8 or $10.

Overall experience was just alright for me, perhaps I don’t like the feeling of “after-MSGED”, the entire mouth dries up and the feeling wasn’t quite nice. If you crave for a good local beef noodle in the east, I would recommend to choose the beef noodle with soup rather than the dry one. It's too much starch for my liking, and generally not that "healthy" too.

Stumbled upon this little small stall along Telok Ayer street is literially like a hidden gem. Uncle Frankie’s Peanut Pancake or the local call it Min Jiang Kueh. It’s amazing fact is it only cost $1 in CBD, and it overloaded with peanuts.

The stall opens only from Monday to Friday: 8AM - 3PM. Catch him if you can! 😁

【Popiah & Kueh Pie Tee】
This may not look pretty but it’s one of the best popiah I ever had in Singapore by far. Not only the chilli was damn spicy (me like!), the size of the popiah is almost twice as big as the normal one. It’s definitely worth that $3 per roll. Well, the Chilli on the Kueh Pie Tee is much more on the sweeter side but overall, BOTH of them are yummilious!!!

This was my childhood’s love Deep Fried Carrot Cake, and it used to come in a old school square shape. But this stall Chai Chee Cai Tuo Guo created a twist of a modern touch by selling a bag of 12 pieces at $2. .

Finally get to try the Malay kuku kueh, personally I do prefer the Chinese ones better as I think that their dough is a little too thick and the Gula Melaka is too sweet for my liking. Overall, not so bad but I couldn’t come all the way just for this again.

I have no idea what are they called in Malay but everything looks so good and yummy! The beef Rendang and the beef lung were DAMN good, it’s definitely a must eat!

The usual #B1 Hainanese Chicken Rice is closed due to his brother passing, we tried this other stall at level 1. The rice is pretty fragrant and the chilli is damn good! Love the fact that the Uncle is really generous with his portion and coriander. 👍🏻
