Local Style Afternoon Tea
Checked out this Johore Ze Zhi Mei Handmade pau 新山葉子媚手工包点 after browsing through @burpple. The stall is in some normal looking
Local coffee shop, but you can smell the freshly steamed bao approaching the stall itself.
I order the chicken bao and not the usual pork bun cos I don’t like sweet stuff. Though this don’t look like much, but the chicken meat was pretty juicy and tender and very generous with the amount of chicken and egg. The juice was literally flowing out uncontrollably as I bite into the soft and fluffy bun. I love that the bun was thin and light, not the usual thick and dry kind. Recommended for sure!

【Nostalgic Bakery】
Another local Kopi time in Malay Heritage area in Singapore, my first time trying the coconut tart and I love it! It ain’t sweet to my liking and I assume that coconut is healthy. 🙈
I love the old school interior of the cafe, it’s very nostalgic and “back in the days” mood. Definitely a good place for some catch up with friends and enjoy a good afternoon Kopi.

One of the best Kaya in Singapore, I like how soft the bread is, you seriously do not need teeth for this.
Was being a typical ‘queue-joiner’, was wondering what’s the hype about Mr Youtiao while you could find Mr Bean just one level down from Novena Square 2.
Realised they served not only the classic you tiao, they have selection of Almond or Sesame You Tiao that comes with Curry dipping sauce. That’s something new for me! Though I personally find that the curry is a little too salty.
Beancurd was just alright and the soya bean drink was just so-so, not fancy or thick or much for a queue.
I love the crispness of the bolo bao, make sure you ask for the “brownish” toasted one if you like it more roasted, ask to heat up and eat it while it’s hot!
Egg tart is a little sweet in my opinion, however the overall taste ain’t that bad.
I would order a milk tea rather than a yuanyang as the aroma of the tea is really fragrant. OH! Love it without sugar.
