Foodie in Ho Chi Minh

Hand-tossed and baked in a wood-fired oven, the pizzas at 4P’s are built on a thin crust that has just the right crackle and bite – a little bready but not doughy. The amount of topping is just right so the base doesn’t get bogged down and soggy. Both flavours we tried were excellent and I’d eat them again in a heartbeat.

Read on the 4P’s website that they encourage the “farm to table” concept by using fresh produce sent directly to their restaurants from farmers in Da Lat. What’s more, they even make their own cheeses from scratch since fresh cheese is not commonly available in Vietnam – that’s dedication!

Highly recommend a visit here if you’re visiting Ho Chi Minh; reservations are a must.

That time @ccher and I had afternoon tea at English themed cafe, @partea.tearoom. Super-sweet, girly place where you can pick from a huge selection of tea blends to be served in your choice of teacup! Spot the cat?

I don’t even remember what teas we had, but I recall the variety was really extensive with intriguing options such as chocolate mint and Baileys. Chocolate lava cake was alright if you just want a small bite while you’re there.

The cafe is also set in this apartment building where every unit is basically another cafe, so this is the place to go to if you want to cafe-hop without having to travel far in-between locations.

@ccher’s recommendation for cheap and good traditional French fare in Ho Chi Minh. As its name suggests, the restaurant features an al fresco garden setting, that’s really quite pleasant even at the peak of the midday sun.

Flashback to last year’s visit to Ho Chi Minh with @ccher – this was our first meal upon arrival after dumping our luggage in the hotel. Not the biggest fan of Vietnamese food in general, but pho, I can deal with – especially when it’s cheap and good like this one. 😋
