japanese 🍱
got the basic gyudon with a soft boiled egg with the burpple deal! super affordable and portion size was sufficient for me but on the small side! love the crunch the tempura bits add, will recommend if you're in the area
you can probably smell the truffle from a mile away!! didn't expect the rice to be truffle but it was actually quite good? definitely a strong taste along with the mentaiko as well. affordable prices, will be back!
definitely my favourite haunt 🥺 tried this for the first time years ago and it still doesn't disappoint!! super thick sashimi slices and delicious seared salmon with mentaiko on top, and with good prices. gets really crowded so do go early!! :-)
this is a tragic photo but rlly good stuff!!! a little too much/rich for one person so it's good we shared! the queue just proves how good it is
this was the foie gras and unagi, definitely my favourite part of the meal. everything was so good, the dishes were delightful and meticulously plated and the service staff were great :-) i thought we might be hungry after as the plates were small, but we both found ourselves so satisfied after. definitely a yes for special occasions!
we had so much to eat — mentaiko fries, shishamo, swordfish, tuna sushi, etc!!! great for a quick fix of japanese but honestly a little on the pricy side for food that’s Not Great. also side note do not order the swordfish sashimi... u will b disappointed 🤧
first time using burpple beyond! between the 2 of us, we got the aburi salmon don, maguro tuna don, and the swordfish sashimi. i really liked the torched salmon and the swordfish was great (much better than genki’s đź¤)
the truffle smell was really strong but sadly overshadowed when paired with wasabi and soy sauce for the swordfish. overall a good experience and the minimalist decor actually really worked well. however the service staff were not very attentive or welcoming :-(
My go-to ramen place and order. Love the soup and the noodles and of course, the free flow of eggs. The staff are really nice too and didn’t get disgruntled even when we kept asking for egg refills.
Finally got this off the wishlist! Queue was decent but when we left (at about 8) it was really long. Loved the chawanmushi starter, and the tendon itself had prawns, long bean, chicken breast, okra, pumpkin, mushroom, and an unexpected (but highly appreciated) onsen egg! Service was good too. Overall a good experience!
Second time here and it did not disappoint! Cheap chirashi fix and portion size was good. Service was also great as usual.
