Coffeeshops
Tried Bismillah Biryani At Tanjong Pagar Block 7 coffeeshop. This is an outlet of their famous restaurant at Dunlop Street. Ordered chicken biryani $9, rice is smooth and light in taste, chicken is tender. Now i know why its got the Bib Gourmand for 3 years in a row. 🙂 Note that cooking is not done here.
Not blown away by this fish soup amidst the long queue. Pros are many slices of fish. Cons Batang usually no bones but my friend had 2 bones, long and short + the soup base very normal.
$1 nasi lemak. Decent fare. Happy to get my tummy filled.
First time Im trying even though this place is well known for its scissors cut ✂️ curry rice. It lives up to the hype. I love the curry gravy. In my opinion, this place is better than the tiong bahru one. My colleague had the cutlet and cabbage with rice $2.90. Mine was tau pok, cabbage and curry chicken with rice $3.40. Drinks not in the picture. Home made barley $1.10. It is opened daily from 11am to 330am. Value for $.
Had #porkporridge on a rainy day lunchtime today with my colleague. This has been on my food radar for sometime. Happy with it. $3 per bowl and has generous portion of ingredients. First time trying so didnt know to upsize is just $0.50 for Big. 🤦🏻♀️ So we chose small. This is at 638 Veerasamy Road. Its near Jalan Besar Mrt Exit B.
My first choice was mint oreo but it wasn’t available at this branch when i was there but only available in pint. So i had to go for my 2nd usual choice which was the Banana Chocolate Chip Crumble Ice Cream, $3.80
Ate beehoon soup for lunch today. It was a pleasant surprise when I stepped into the coffeeshop. It has just renovated few months back. Now it is brighter and cleaner. Same price for the Yong tao fu at $5 and add on a barley is $1.60. See other tables bought ngoh hiang at the other stall for sharing too. The coffeeshop now open at night too till 930pm. Their YTF is while stock last..
Decent bowl of fish noodles with milk. $5.80 Go early before 12pm to beat the weekday lunch crowd.
Prawn noodles was decent. Had craving for prawn noodles for the past few weeks. So here i was. This small bowl is $6. It satisfied my lunch craving. This is at 36 Circular Road, one of their branches.
What a generous portion of hokkien mee. $4 smallest. Quite nice if you like the wet type of hokkien mee. This is at the Broadway Coffeeshop
Had Eng noodles for brunch today. It was alright. Nothing to shout about. Chilli wasnt as hot as I thought. I squeeze alot but still not hot enough. 😆Barley was diluted. I also walked past the white plate place and it was equally crowded.
Maybe it was my choice of dishes but it tasted normal to me only. Ordered tahu and egg, ayam gulai and tei terik. The chilli wasnt spicy enough. I enjoyed the tei terik thou. Total cost $7.80
