Bak Chor Mee
Somehow this was not as nice as other branches’. Maybe didn’t add enough chili. Gravy also not very enough so a bit bland. But got a lot of ingredients.
Thot this was a fail safe BCM but the smell of the pork was overpowering. Not that there was anything spoiled in the bowl but the porky smell was so strong. For die hard pork fans.
This bowl had everything: fish balls & fish cakes, meatballs & minced meat, chewy mushrooms and lots of crispy pork lard. Noodles not over cooked, quite Q. Delicious.
Mee Pok With chili in savory vinegary gravy. Nice.
This $5 bowl of BCM had a lot of ingredients inside. The meat balls were also soft and tasty. The mushroom slices esp impressed me. Thick cut and very juicy. Very delicious indeed.
From Mee Pok Master. There were minced meat, braised pork ribs, prawn, abalone slices, sliced mushrooms and fish ball. Quite a lot of ingredients. Soup was very flavorful.
Price was before Passion card 10% discount. This was from Guan’s Mee Pok. Add $2 for lava egg. Meatballs were handmade. I was amazed by how delicious they were. The meat balls were huge, and one bite told me why. Inside was minced meat and soooo juicy too! Wah the taste was incredible. A must try for meat lovers.
Can get 10% off if you flash your Passion card. There are a few Guan’s Mee Pok around, but I specially like this one. Somehow the noodles just tasted better, and they were generous with ingredients. This was a very good bowl of BCM, with loads of pork lard and delicious chili sauce. You can request for no vinegar too.
The food court has moved to 3rd floor, accessible from the escalator in front of Crystal Jade. Quite a nice environment, clean and spacious with big windows.
My usual fish hot pot was nowhere to be found, but I found Guan’s Classics. It’s just Guan’s Mee Pok, but with limited menu. And far more expensive than the stall in Bishan Junction 8 food court. Even the small bowl here was $6.20. Instead of dumpling, I was given a meatball. Tender and juicy but cannot be compared to their meatballs in Junction 8 food court. Mee Pok was served in an atas big plate, like French cuisine. Glad that this branch upheld Guan’s good standards. But at this price, I would go to Junction 8.
This place was packed during lunch time. Long queue.
This was pretty good. Gravy was spicy and vinegary.
I tried this with the fat yellow noodles. Thot it would be on the jelat side, but ok leh.
Signboard said fishball noodles but it was more Bak Chor Mee. We asked for two exact same orders of medium, but my noodles had more sauce than hubby’s. Mine was great. Good chili, good flavors. Hubby’s was bland and even the color was far lighter than mine. So in the end, we mixed both bowls together and shared.
The soup was divine. Slightly sweet, with loads of liao. 3 prawns inside were very small, but fresh and bouncy. I enjoyed the soup much more than the noodles.
