Drinks (Any Kinds)

We had these refreshing drinks from Winnie’s last weekend - a couple from their new menu and one from their regular menu (from L-R):

~Summer Fruit Tea (new menu)
~Lychee Rose Nectar (regular menu)
~Double Peachy (new menu)

Of the new ones, we preferred the Double Peachy, which had a very enjoyable peach flavour, without being overly sweet as well. We found the Summer Fruit Tea a tad too citrusy for our liking but still a good thirst quencher nonetheless! Their Lychee Rose Nectar has always been a favourite of mine, and I definitely recommend trying this!

Oreo Boba Yogurt ($5.90): I would describe this drink as a ‘slow burner’. I initially couldn’t get into the combination of oreo, boba and yogurt at first, but after a few more sips, the taste slowly grew on me and I found myself enjoying this drink quite a bit!

Strawberry Yogurt ($7.80): This drink on the other hand was more straightforward in terms of taste! The strawberry and yogurt complemented each other really well, and it was nice biting into fresh strawberry bits in between sips of the creamy yogurt. It did however, got a tad jelak towards the end.

They currently have 2 outlets (Suntec City Mall & I12 Katong Mall), with a 3rd opening soon at City Square Mall. There will be a 1-for-1 opening promo for their

Strawberry fans where you at? LiHO’s K-Strawberry series is back (till 21 March 2022) with 3 flavours to choose from (L-R):

I like that all 3 drinks come with real sliced Korean strawberries + strawberry purée inside, and my favourite is the K-Strawberry Jing Syuan - It was so refreshing! The light taste and aroma of Jing Syuan tea compliments the freshness of the Seolhyang strawberries really well. The drinks are also poured into adorable strawberry-shaped cups that are made convenient to drink. Do note that the cups are available in limited quantities, so get them before they run out!

LiHO has recently launched their Duck Shit Tea, and in case you’re wondering, no, there’s no actual 🦆💩 in the tea! 😂 It comes from its Chinese name 鴨屎香, which literally means 'Duck Shit Fragrance'. Despite the name, it’s in fact among the most aromatic varieties of oolong teas, and has a range of health benefits that includes beautifying effects due to its antioxidants, lowering blood lipids and preventing fatigue.

~Duck Shit Grapefruitea: I felt the Duck Shit Tea on its own was already good but when paired with Grapefruit, it adds an even more floral fruity flavour for an extra refreshing taste. The drink also comes with white pearls for an enjoyable QQ jelly-like texture with every sip.

~Duck Shit Snow Mountain: I enjoyed the combination of rich (from the milk) and floral notes (from the tea), which made the drink subtly creamy! It comes with a generous swirl of whipped cream with savoury soybean powder sprinkled right on top. A mid-day treat to have as an energy booster!

Gong Cha Singapore has partnered up with Famous Amos Singapore for a fresh take on the classic tea and cookies pairing! Gong Cha's signature earl grey milk tea infused with Valrhona premium hazelnut praline is topped with freshly baked Famous Amos's original chocolate chip cookies. It’s got a great balance of crunch and cream, without being super jelak. We slurped ours up in mere minutes! Plus, with every order of Cookies Earl Grey Hazelnut Milk Tea, you can purchase a box of Famous Amos Cookies in a festive CNY box (150g) at $9 (UP $12.90). These are available for a limited time only, while stocks last!

Jia Jia Herbal Tea has collaborated with PlayMade to launch a limited time only Jia Jia Milk Tea w/ Jia Jia Boba. The drink itself is a blend of JJ liangteh’s herbal fragrance, with a milky twist. Personally found it a tad too sweet even at 25% sugar level; I suggest 0% for those who prefer their drinks less sweet. Loved the chewy, liangteh-infused Jia Jia Boba though. This drink is available at all PlayMade outlets from now till mid-Feb 2022, while stocks last.

A new eco-friendly LiHO TEA outlet has opened up at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital! It embraces a zero sugar added concept for a healthier choice! Drinks here are served at 0% sweetness level by default, and instead uses Stevia sweeteners as a healthier replacement. And it strives to reduce wastage and plastics too!

Gong Cha has launched their new drink: Milk Foam Choc-a-lot made with KITKAT for the upcoming festive period! It's a chocolate drink made from fresh milk mixed with a decadent KITKAT spread, and topped with milk foam and a generous amount of KITKAT bites.

It is rich, creamy and very indulgent! Love the crunch from the KITKAT bites too! Perfect beverage for the joyous season! This drink is available till 31 Dec 2021 at all their outlets.

Finally tried the signature dessert beverage from Fruce, and all i can say is the Avocado Coconut drink is so creamy, smooth and refreshing. I like that you can customise your sweetness level too, and i’ll definitely be back to try other drinks on their menu.

We were in the area so we decided to pop by Coconut and Fam to try out some of their beverages! Featuring the (from R to L):

~Coconut Shake ($4/5)
~Lotus Biscoff Crush Shake ($5.50/6.50)
~Avocado Shake ($5.50/6.50)

Our unanimous favourite among the trio is definitely the Lotus Biscoff Crush Shake! The combination of biscoff and coconut worked really well - neither flavour overpowers the other. And we just loved the crunch from the crushed biscuits and coconut bits! Overall, the shake is thick, smooth and creamy - shiok!

The other two shakes were alright, nothing groundbreaking but still refreshing treats nonetheless.

We also spotted some interesting options on their menu like Cotton Candy, Honeydew Sago and Salted Caramel; maybe we’ll give those a try next time. Coconut and Fam currently has two outlets (Bukit Batok & Sembawang), and are also available for delivery or self-pick up via @grabfoodsg, @foodpandasg and @deliveroo_sg.

Don’t Yell At Me, a popular Taiwanese bubble tea brand with over 380 outlets globally has opened their first Singapore outlet at Orchard Central Level 2 as a minimalistic café concept.

At this boba cafe, mental health is not a solitary struggle, as customers step into a safe space that welcomes all. Everyone is encouraged to purposefully take a moment to be introspective and discover the beauty of everyday life. All this while being able to lift their spirits with an aesthetically-pleasing layered beverage.

I tried a few of their signature drinks and here are my top 3 recommendations:

~Winter Melon Chrysanthemum Tea w/ Sweet Potato & Taro Pearls (taste is light and aromatic, and love the Sweet Potato & Taro Pearls too, so QQ!)

~Cherry Blossom & Lychee Sparkling Water w/ Honey White Pearls (super fruity and refreshing!)

~Tiramisu Thé Au Lait (this is perfect for those looking to substitute dessert with a rich and flavourful drink instead!)

Pandan fans take note! LiHO has just launched two new pandan beverages in conjunction with Singapore Food Festival 2021.

My personal favorite of the two is the Singa-Pandan Shake - I like how smooth and creamy it tasted! The pandan flavour is prominent, and together with the savouriness of salted caramel plus crunchiness from the caramelized biscuit, this makes for a really yummy drink! Had mine at 30% sugar level and I thought the sweetness was just nice. I wasn’t really a fan of the Singa-Pandan Lime on the other hand (taste is subjective though, maybe you guys might like it), but still kudos to them for always coming out with new drink ideas.
