Probably Not Again
Glad we only ordered the half portion for this as it was rather underseasoned. Some parmesan would have been nice (for both flavour and sauce binding purposes), or even just a dash of salt.
This was sadly very dry, even with the sauce. Please skip and maybe try the dips instead.
Was a little disappointed by the lack of creaminess and flavour of the cheese sauce and the rather dry cubes of chicken breast added in. Eat this quick as the cheese sets really quickly ā better yet, skip this altogether and order the other pasta dish instead (Truffle Mushroom Pasta, $18).
The spicy curry soup was neither spicy nor curry-spiced and the Hokkien noodle was really just yellow mee. Wasnāt too fond of this and only enjoyed the fatty, chewy intestines.
Resist temptation and do not order this platter under Traditional Delicacies. We were very dismayed by the tasteless pieces of tripe, squid tentacles, beancurd skin and (tiny) fishballs. The ācurryā was also disappointingly bland and barely helped.
There were only three of us so we could only utilise one Beyond deal (used it for the prawns instead of two plates of pasta), but we still wanted to try the recommended Mumās Pasta (U.P. $16). Opted for the set lunch option, which came with a drink, salad, fries and the Love Boat (honeydew with jelly).
Not the biggest fan of the sweet and sour brown sauce, so we ended up mixing it with the leftover Caboodle Mix sauce.
Iām not super fond of tres leches, but the previous ones Iāve had were moist and well-drenched in milk. This oneās on the dryer side but thankfully wasnāt too sweet. Four of us werenāt able to finish this though, so Iād day itās probably best to stick to the savouries here.
While not made in house, a variation of cakes can sate sweet cravings better than the milkshakes. Cake layers were moist though slightly on the dense side. Wish the frosting had more cream cheese in it, and that the amount in the middle was halved for a much better cake to frosting ratio.
Seeded bun with crispy battered softshell crab, sunny side up, arugula and tomato, topped with cheese and mayo-based sauces. This ended up being a tad too greasy for me and could have been better balanced, perhaps with some pickled veggies or a zippier dressing. Fries on the side could have been more golden and crisp too.
Tried all three flavours: Avocado Gula Melaka, Passion Fruit Yoghurt & Milo T-Rex and couldn't help but feel disappointed.
For the avocado, the cloying sweetness overpowered everything (I also requested for the gula Melaka sauce to be on the side, but it came poured in). There wasn't much fruit in there to begin with and it had the overripe aftertaste. š
The Milo T-Rex is not a milkshake. It's iced Milo topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Wish the Milo taste was stronger.
Not that crazy about truffle fries, but it was $0.50 more compared to the normal fries, so why not?
There's a bit more fluffy middle to crisp edges in every bite, so we felt this was not great as a snack, but would probably go better as a carb with meaty mains.
Wasn't expecting this for an "octopus salad" and wouldn't have ordered had we known. Dressing was nicely balanced, but I got that tingling sensation on the tongue that I usually get when eating not-so-fresh fish. Not sure if it was the octopus or maybe just the acid in the seasoning.
