A delightful melange of sweet tartness coupled with a very buttery crisp shell. Aesthetically pleasing and purse friendly too IMO! This is definitely a 5/5!
These muffins are not your usual ones as they are supposedly healthier 😁 Pictured flavours: Walnut muffins and Banana Chocolate. $1.90 each or 12 for $10.20. Verdict: Not bad, great for tea time bites or even a 'To Go' kinda breakfast!
Located on 308 Telok Kurau Road #01-07, this newly opened Muslim-owned artisanal patisserie is where all your bespoke and artisanal dessert cravings can be had. At quite an affordable price too 😃 This pink beauty here (hands up who loves Bandung?), is a very spot-on ode to the beloved drink in the form of a very shiny mirror glazed cake version. Sprinkled daintily around the cake: meringue crumbs! The sweetness was just right and the portion was well thought of. 5/5!
Oldness is goodness! Traditional desserts..I wonder if people born after the year 2000 still appreciate them? This is definitely a snack I grew up with, preferring home made ones by an aunt. Today, I got whisked into my childhood! These Kuih Lopes tasted just like the homemade ones I used to really enjoy eating when there were no fancy desserts back then (the 90s). It was of the right texture - somewhere in between chewy yet not tough firmness. The gula melaka syrup was also of the right sweetness and consistency!
This latest outlet is situated quite in an "ulu" corner of Tiong Bahru. The ambience was nice and it was pretty empty when I came on a weekday afternoon. The waffles were delicious and IMO, unless you are very hungry, it can be quite a feat to finish it by yourself. The ice cream was so rich and decadent, a little would go a long way! So, halfway through it, I already felt "jelak". This cost $9.30 as a set. The plain waffles was $6. Place accepts NETs and Grabpay besides cash of course 😁
Ah...Swensen's. A well known brand and longtime family favourite. They dish out waffles in this branch. My verdict: gelato was a tad too sweet and the waffles were slightly on the salty side but nevertheless it tasted good. Good for sharing IMO! $10.80 not including GST and service charge.
$6.50 (not including GST and service charge)
Wow! Finally, churros made right! Outside is not burnt but golden brown. Crunchy yet slightly moist inside. Totally scrumptious. The chocolate sauce was also a bittersweet symphony of decadence. This restaurant not only serves up good grubs, they have wonderful service too!
At $12, this is definitely one of the better places to have delicious and good quality waffles. Wonderfully crispy outside and fluffy inside. Plus, you get to have the best of both worlds too if you are indecisive. Being a Tarophile, the taro ice cream was legit with bits of taro in it. Sweetness level can be a tad less, IMO but still acceptable. Service was very pleasant too, the lady who took and made my order was very customer oriented.
Ooh...waffles...who could resist them? Not me. Plain or dressed, savory or sweet, I can seriously eat them all day long!
From the same folks behind Stranger's Reunion and Curious Palette, this joint is another place you can have your waffle fix from. Cos their waffles are seriously scrummy-licious. However at $12 not including 10% service charge, it is quite pricey. But well...the toppings and the generous drizzle of maple syrup (though I should do with less), kinda made up for it I guess 👌
I usually come here when I crave waffles or their An Pan buns. Their $8 waffles looks simple but delicious when eaten on the spot. Quite overpriced IMO. Service is usually unassuming but prompt.
Tastes as delicious and beautiful as it looks! For a limited time, enjoy Sakura creations from this wonderful patisserie. Pictured is their Sakura Roll ($16.80). If you don't feel like sharing, you can get a slice at $5.50. It is so delicious and fragrant. The fresh cream complements the spongy cake. Worth every calorie 😃
The latte, though pricey ($6.80) was definitely one of the best I've had this week. The Yatsura ($8.50) was a decadent cake with top notch ingredients. The size was just right too. Perfect pairing for coffee junkies and chocoholics!
