Refined a packet of Taiwan Chye Pohs that are so fresh - I can’t wait to make Chye Poh eggs out of time .

Unlike the China ones that are overly salted , shriveled and dry , this is moist , Fresh and crunchy .

Dont be fooled by these innocent plain looking dumplings .

They pack a punch of flavour and are bursting with juice when bite into.

Jia he Xing has made its first foray into Singapore - originally from Beijing and specialising in freshly made handmade dumplings .

No preservatives , no additives and everything made from scratch .

Extremely comforting and extremely fresh .

Ended the meal with a stunningly beautiful traditional Beijing dessert called 驴打滚- literally means donkey rolling ( in sand ).

This was a soft and slightly chewy homemade Mochi wrapped in a luxurious homemade red bean paste and then rolled over some fine soybean powder.

This was served warm and so yummy. Not too sweet at all .

A must try !

I have drank enough avocado smoothies to know which is a good one .

Probably the best in town.

Extremely creamy with whiffs of genuine gula Melaka .

This cafe specialises in Indonesian dishes cooked from the heart - almost like from a home kitchen .

Not exactly cheap at 5.90 but trust me - it’s fills you because it’s the real stuff .

Will be back for more .

Undoubtedly good soup but the fish slices were so little and tiny - for 55 dollars I wouldn’t think that this was value for money .

The fish slices were oddly shaped and most were bony without much flesh.

For this same price , you’d probably get fresher fish and double the quantity at Tian Wai Tian .

A pretty new establishment at Far East plaza which just brings such a breath of fresh air into this somewhat forgotten and outdated mall .

I sampled the original tiramisu and found it not too sweet and absolutely yummy with a pronounced alcohol and coffee taste. They also have interesting flavours like baileys . ....

I was tempted to buy one but was traveling for Business meeting .

Looks like a local start up and we should always support , shouldn’t we?

Perhaps a good option for a cny gift instead of the usual boring cookies - hahahah!

Can you spot my camouflaged cup of coffee ?

Thanks to the reviews by other bupplers, I was made aware of the existence of this quaint cafe.

The coffee was robust with a slight sourish undertone. I actually liked the pretty clay cup more than the coffee 😂. Given that it was my first encounter in a tipping cafe , it was a pretty exciting encounter for me .

The ambience was lovely especially since I managed to get the seat by the window. Strangely , I felt a tad tinge of cautiousness and tension too - perhaps it was too quiet 🤫.

The usual me would have opted for cakes with my coffee but I felt more like drinking than eating today. So it’s just me and my coffee in complete silence 😌

After a foodie friend Caecilia shared with Burpple Tastemaker @blueskiescottonclouds and I that a stall inside Havelock Road Cooked Food Centre sells her current favourite Nasi Lemak in Singapore, I decided to check it out for lunch with Burpplers @dexneo @raineliu and @jonathanteo.
We spotted “Zheng Nasi Lemak” (#01-12) the moment we entered the L-shaped hawker centre as there was a queue in front of it.
Clearly, quality takes precedence over quantity here. Because although the six sets offered (priced between $3.70 and $4.20) don’t have the fanciest of toppings, the couple who owns the stall, fry the eggs, chicken drumsticks and wings in tiny batches. Which means you get to enjoy these PIPING HOT. I’m sure you can imagine how shiok that is with the fragrant, fluffy rice and spicy sambal.

Can't believe I took so long to try out the Banana Date Loaf ($8) from @percolatecoffee!
That moist dense banana Date cake slathered with @the_hunters_kitchenette's almond nut butter with some accompanying berries and mascarpone cheese. Every element was well thought through and worked together super well!
While you are there, don't forgot to order their Curry Egg Mayo Croissant ($7) for yummy crispy buttery croissant!

Get a plate of 肉丝炒面 (Stir fry Noodles with Shredded Pork) that is overflowing with egg noodles, pork, mushrooms and veggies. 😋 I like that it is not overly oily and the egg noodles were al dente with a bite.
