Chirashi Don ($21.80)
.
Excellent chirashi don @house_of_chirashi_sg at wallet friendly prices. This serving came with yellow tail, salmon, salmon belly, scallop, prawn and ikura amongst other ingredients. Each sashimi was sliced so thick itβs no surprised that there were positively more fish than rice. A truly enjoyable dining experience. With a small seating of less than 10, reservations are a must.
Damage: $10
I had the salmon mentai don and wow was the salmon goood. It's so soft and when it melts on your tongue with the mentai sauce it feels like cuddles with my tongue π
Plus there's no gst and service charge π I would definitely travel to bugis for this π and I'll probably keep eating this whenever I'm in bugis π€£
Tucked away on the first floor of Sunshine Plaza, District Sushi serves up some seriously delish AND affordable Japanese β $10 Bara Chirashi Don anyone? Considering the amount of fresh seafood that the rice bowl comes topped with, this could possibly be the most value for money version we've tried. Along with cooked prawns, the fish cubes are chunky and fresh, and tossed in a slightly sweet marinade (nothing a trickle of soy sauce won't fix, says Burppler Muriel A). You might be tempted to upsize to the Premium Bara Chirashi Don, but the $10 portion should satisfy regular appetites. If you're not into raw seafood, you'll find equally tasty $10 bowls in the donburi section: both the Salmon Mentaiyaki Donburi ($10) and Aburi Duck Teriyaki + Onsen Egg ($10) have our nods of approval.
Avg price: $10

Manager's lunch treat!
The raw salmon and tuna chunks were generously cut into big cubes and drizzled with bara sauce. The kaisen don was served with warm and tasty rice cooked to perfection, and topped with salmon roe. Coupled with a bowl of hearty miso soup and free flow sides of salmon and seaweed, you can also throw in your favourite furikake and Chilli powder or minced garlic for an extra kick.
I would say the price is a little steep but worth it if you have the stomach for the free flow sides! They also serve hot/cold tea for free. The food is prepared fresh upon your order and is truly Japanese food. (;
I love how underrated Manzoku is, especially when it comes to their Chirashi Set! There's just something about the thick, fresh slices of salmon, tuna, swordfish, and amberjack sashimi laid out in abundance atop perfectly cooked Japanese rice that makes you want dig into it immediately! Bitting into the lightly-golden tamago bars are a welcoming respite from the ocean of flavours, and we haven't even gotten to the generous dollop of Ikura pearls yet! $25 may be a hefty price tag to many, but for this gargantuan bowl? Trust me - it's worth it. #BurppleSushiMonth #burpple
