Among all the desserts available, this was one that caught my eye most and I am glad it didn’t disappoint! ✨ In fact, it was pretty impressive for a Character Cafe (as I usually don’t have high expectation for these) 👍🏻. The Calamansi tart is served with Hokkaido Softserve, along with petite old school gem tartlets, strawberries, pistachio bits, cotton candy and a side of strawberry sauce for you to drizzle them onto the softserve! 🍓🍓 The tart crust came with a solid, firm crust that crumbles slightly and withheld a subtle, pleasant lingering buttery fragrance. The interior of kalamansi curd was smooth, tangy and refreshing with a characteristic sour note that would definitely be a great perk-me-up on a hectic day 😅. The Hokkaido softserve is actually a frozen yogurt, coming with a subtle tangy note along with a smooth, creamy texture. Great in silo without the need for the strawberry sauce that was a tad too sweet for my liking. The mini gem tartlets are filled with coloured creams that somehow felt like a cross between meringue and fresh cream, encased within a thick, solid and firm tart crust. Wasn’t really a fan of the cream here that I decided to omit them and consume the tarts in silo & with the softserve 🙈. Nevertheless, the main highlight here is still the ‘Mr Happy’ Calamansi tart and softserve, that was pretty enjoyable and satisfying! 💖 .

LAST DAY (23rd Sept) for @kumoya_singapore ‘s Mr Men x Little Miss pop-up! 💥 If you are a fan of this character, be sure to head down now to give it a last shot! Featured here is the Delightful Pancakes set that might seem like a breakfast/ brunch dish instead, but I would definitely not mind having it for dinner as well! ✌🏻 For the single ladies out there, if you can’t find a perfect Mr Right, you can always have an ideal Mr. Happy here! 🙂 3 slices of homemade buttermilk pancakes, along with scrambled eggs, portobello mushrooms, hash brown, baby carrots, tempura macakerel otah, it also comes with a side of fresh garden salad and a mini bottle of Kaya jam for you to spread it onto your pancakes! Not sure if the bottle is allowed to be kept, but I took it away with me 🤫🤫. The pancakes are soft, fluffy and thin, which was sufficiently moist and not too dry. Scrambled eggs was done to a slightly creamy and moist texture, soft and fluffy as well! 💖 The tempura mackerel otah got to be my favourite component of all, having a distinct lingering spice factor, adorned with a crisp and well battered exterior. Along with juicy, chewy portobello mushrooms that lended an earthy note, the carrots that seemed like mini cocktail sausages instead also added a pleasant crunch factor. Portion is also rather generous here, satisfying and filling for a meal! Not only are the dishes insta-worthy, the taste is not compromised as well! ✌🏻 .

Along with a tangy brown gravy, I wasn’t expecting much from dishes at character cafes but I guess I shall withdraw my doubts when I tasted this duck confit. Surprisingly it surpassed my expectations (and was actually my favourite dish among others I’ve tried despite its less alluring outlook); a tender, meaty interior that was easily sliced apart adorned with a slightly crisp, charred golden brown skin coating. The sides that came along unfortunately only enhanced the outlook and not the palatability of the dish. Despite having a subtle albeit distinct truffle flavour and aroma, the texture of the mash potato was thick and paste-alike, without the characteristic smooth, creamy and melt-in-the mouth texture. The miffy okonomoyaki pancake was also rather dry and tough, lacking crispness in its exterior. Nevertheless, thank goodness that the highlight of this dish- duck confit was one that was satisfying and enjoyable, compensating for that slight disappointment .

A cute and kawaii presentation indeed that would certainly make the kids and cinnamoroll fans squeal in delight! 😻 Though flavour wise, it was just a run-off-the mill, a sweet and slightly fizzy beverage that's not worth the exhorbitant price paid by for 😏.
