This dish fell a bit below my expectations cos it had too many raving reviews I think. But it was still good! The duck egg version was very interesting and and increased the savoury-ness of the kway teow.
The cafe was generally very quiet and peaceful as there weren't many people when we visited. It is located in Museum Hotel and is thus quite a good place to rest after a day of walking/eating especially for travellers staying there.
The presentation of the food items was fantastic too, with rose petals and pink sugar flakes adorning the rose cheesecake. Everything was quite instagrammable 🙂 The taste of the desserts was also good - rich and not too sweet.
This was a pleasant find as we visited Kafe Ping Hooi for the Tiger Char Koay Teow and found this store at a corner of the shop. I would say the Lor Bak is similar to Ngoh Hiang in Singapore but even better. The tofu was crispy on the outside but very soft on the inside which made chewing it very 爽口. The prawn cracker was extremely crispy as well and went well together with the other ingredients on the plate like say the boiled octopus. Tried Lor Bak a few times in Penang after that but this particular Lor Bak triumphs the rest that I tried.
