Taste don't swallow
While walking through NEWEST’s many food establishments in search of dinner, I stumbled upon Flyboy YTF. The place was surprisingly crowded, which caught my attention—especially since the mall was pretty quiet on a weekday night. I took it as a good sign and decided to give it a try.
I ordered the *Signature Set A YTF*. All their Yong Tau Foo items are handmade, and I was particularly impressed by the fried meatball and tofu with meat stuffing—they were absolutely delicious!
Their signature homemade chilli was also a standout, adding a perfect kick to the meal.
Highly recommended by my wife’s Eastie colleagues!
Ba Shu was packed on a weekday night at 8 PM, which speaks volumes about its popularity.
The green pepper fish slices were absolutely delicious & incredibly satisfying. The soup was flavorful without being overly spicy, making it enjoyable for those who prefer milder heat. The fish itself was silky smooth, tender, and was definitely fresh.
A fantastic dining experience overall and Will definitely return.
Let me know if you'd like further tweaks!
This is Chinese mee siam, not as tangy & sour.
But taste very good in my opinion.
The gravy is more thick & milky, like machiam mee siam curry.
Served with hard boiled egg, lots of beancurd bits, spring onions & some dried shrimps.
The queue here at 9am weekend is long. Queued for nearly 20mins
Surprised to find some Colombian food at a hawker centre.
The chilli definitely spicy, that's why give u so little. Anymore chilli, need to standby ambulance already.
Chicken was tender and portion was generous for $5.50.
Sauce was flavourful.
Canton Delicacies always never fails to dissappoint. Returned again, this time tried their steam pork.
The boneless Meat was so tender and so flavourful. Their gravy was damn shiok as well. The meat tasted like it was bathed in the gravy for days, flavours so infused into the meat.
Not bad.
Quite refreshing.
The Canteen by Enjoy is situated at the ground floor of this damn Old school looking hotel, felt a little like I was transported back to the 70s after I entered the hotel and into this establishment.
Food was more than decent, it was actually damn good in fact.
1) Sambal Stingray
- was a rather small portion. But the sambal was great, tasted like plenty of onions was used. Stingray meat was tender and easily slides off the bone. A little Pricey, if u compare with those hawker centres/coffee shops.
2) Hokkien Mee
- Strong Wok hei, fresh prawns, shiok sambal.
What a hidden gem of a satay here at East coast lagoon. This has to be 1 of my favourite satay of all time.
There are many many satay stalls at ECLFV, but this may be the only stall that is not halal.
The pork belly satay was tender, juicy, flavourful. Don't even need to dip into the satay sauce.
Black Cherry is located at Bijou, a mixed development residential Condominium located within walking distance from Pasir Panjang MRT.
Came here for the Burrple 1for1, but decided to have some Tapas, which looked damn good.
1)SPANISH PRAWN GAMBAS AL AJILLO @ $18
- sauteed prawn cooked with garlic, chili & extra virgin olive oil
- My favourite, overpowering garlic, burst of flavours, fresh prawns.
2) CHORIZO AL VINO @$16
-chorizo sausage, sauteed in red wine with chili & garlic
- rather good, burst of flavours.
3)ALMEJAS A LA MARINER@$16
- (spanish style clams) fresh clams in white wine, lemon, garlic, olive oil
- clams were fresh, and that "broth" was damn flavourful and shiok.
Commonwealth Crescent has plenty of good food. And another solid stall here, is Hong Kee porridge.
This is also another popular stall here, with decent Google ratings. This is the thick porridge style, not the watery teochew style.
Special Side Dish: Cai Po Omelette @ only $1.50
Hanjiang Seafood Square gets very crowded and the waiting time is fairly long, I waited nearly 45 minutes after ordering.
They have a few fresh seafood dishes on their menu, from seabass to prawns to pomfret to groupers.
All seafood we had were very fresh and the food was very affordable. Just look at the prices. Cheap and good.
Prawns were fresh and bouncy, and doused with fragrant and spicy gravy.and served with overload of tang hoon.
The Seabass was also fresh, meat was silky smooth. And so affordable as well
Set meal comes with a side of Taiwanese popcorn chicken.
The Mee sua here can eat with just the spoon, and taste as good as Ay Chung, which is also served with pig Intestine.
Pop corn chicken also damn good, crispy and well seasoned. Those that once u start eating, cannot stop.
