PSA: tldr go bar, don't get main tapas deal of 5
places that have two dining area makes for the greatest headaches seriously. This place is particularly bad, cos the portions suck as well. Apparently the bar area can order everything, from the bar menu to the main menu. The main menu can't order from the bar menu, with more reasonable portion sizes so you can taste everything. What's more, their main menu portions are huge, they're seriously the sizes of small mains themselves, and the deal is for 5 mains at 156++. They're encouraging you to severely over-order, and every staff always kindly reminds you that maybe you have ordered too much. Very nice of the staff but the fundamental problem is their deal and their portion sizes. 2 people would have trouble finishing 5 main-size tapas, much less have space for dessert.
Did I mention the bar tapas sizes are not the same as the main dining area tapas sizes? See how stupid this place is now?
For reference: tapas tasting menu 6 tapas is good for 2 pax if you're ordering drinks, because you can choose desserts as well. Get 5 tapas deal from main area only if you have 3 pax, then maybe half a paella and a dessert.
The food: the sugar crust is perfect, but the slightly grainy custard is not as pleasant as your usual smooth custard. Overall it's alright
Overall: without reading reviews in advance I would have been really frustrated with the main dining area, but based on just this bar dining experience, it's quite obvious their stuff are overpriced and the quality isn't superb. Skip, there's better Spanish places.
The raspberry sorbet is sour and tart in moderate amounts, and so goes well w the basque cheesecake. Otherwise the cheesecake isn't melty inside and is quite pedestrian really, your neighbourhood bakery has almost exactly the same thing
Skip
PSA Yes, the tapas includes the desserts as well
The texture was abit too ricey, however the aroma of the orange and cinnamon was intoxicating. Not bad overall
This knocked my socks off. Ridiculously soft filling and the thinnest of pasta, with savoury whipped cream below and topped w beef jus and a generous amount of oil. The beefy umami was unbridled
Must try!
Reasonably priced, there's no crust but flavour was alright and ingredients were quite generous
Not bad overall
The meat was a tad chewy, the sauce and the cider gel didn't do much for the meat, but holy moly the meat's flavour was something. There's an indescribable flavour of the meat, really special stuff. And it's not like I haven't had iberico pluma before
Worth a try
It's decent, there's this slight slimy texture which was fine cos it's very soft and works, but not seasoned a lot and only crispy at the ends.
Overall can pass, better octopus elsewhere that's crispy throughout(though I presume they're aiming for very tender texture inside)
The sauce was pretty good, but there's not too much of it, alot more oil. The prawns were decently cooked but it's a very normal variety. Bread was fine. Very mildly seasoned
Overall only slightly above average, I know some ppl are hyping this but there are better ones out there lol
Not too bad, the olive oil caviar could have been more generous and the ratio is abit off(there's too much chocolate), but otherwise the smooth and thick chocolate was good.
Best thing we had here, overall no need to visit
First ever crispy paella I had, and I've had a lot of paellas. However their crisp is the kind that's like claypot rice, and while it's strong enough at some parts it's not particularly good
Everything else was average. Clams were alright, mussels weren't fresh, very oily overall to produce the crisp, octopus was tough, and the stock lacked depth
Overall barely serviceable
Very creamy and u taste potatoes, plus it's not as jelat as it seems. Their aioli is damn weak you can't taste anything but overall, the mild taste didn't impress me.
Decently seasoned but somewhat flat, it's serviceable overall. The prawns were the normal meaty kind
