Enjoying a slice of delicious sachertorte complemented by a compulsory mound of whipped cream is an essential thing to do when visiting Vienna. We had our fix at Demel - a famous pastry shop and chocolaterie established in 1786. The company bears the title of a Purveyor to the Imperial and Royal Court (k.u.k. Hofzuckerbäcker) up to today.
The brioche roll version got top marks from my dining companion too: the lobster was fresh, quality specimen, perfectly cooked – and tasted divine with mayonnaise.
