Stumbled upon this hole in the wall place in the back alleys just in front of Rossio station, all local crowd - have to wait for a seat if you come in groups, but fantastic local fare at low prices! EUR6.50 for that nicely charred huge portion of grilled ink squid (so yummy!!!) & EUR1.50 for 250ml of Green Wine. A definite must go if you're ever in Lisbon.

Finally found a grilled fish restaurant. This one's centrally located at Rossio Square, but off a side street. Very local place; they don't speak English, so it was an adventure ordering. Great food at fab prices. Really fresh fish that was just nicely cooked. 😍 (EUR8.50)

So different from the Portuguese egg tarts we're used to in Asia. A lot richer and less eggy + super crisp pastry. Must try if only for the experience, and best with a sprinkle of cinnamon and powdered sugar. (EUR1.05)

Rehydrated salted cod, fried with potatoes and eggs. Typical Portuguese comfort food. Fab, but super rich, best shared. And superbock - not a beer fan but loved this the first time I tried it in Macau, recommended by a Portuguese friend of course! (EUR9.50 + EUR1.80 for the beer)

Awesome grilled octopus leg (boiled first then grilled) with Mashed Potatoes, fresh spinach and fried potato skins. Incredible value too, at EUR12.50 for this + a dessert + wine
