Flaky croissant stuffed chock full of luscious egg mayonnaise (which consisted of more egg than mayonnaise - perfect). Shoutout also to the sake kasu cheesecake and the lemon tart - both were also on point.
Such a hidden gem in the basement of Heeren / Robinsons. Relatively quiet even on a Saturday afternoon, perfect for a respite in the middle of town. Loved the thick chunks of apple and how it was not too sweet. The excellent vanilla ice cream just made it even better. This was serve cold but I can imagine it would have been great warmed up. Savoury food menu seems good too (duck confit!) so will be back to try.
I wanted very much to like this. But $7.50 for a dry and rather stale cake that had no hint of coffee at all made it very difficult to do so. The hojicha glaze was strong and not too sweet but not enough to save the cake. Pity, cos I loved the environs of the cafe with the natural light streaming in and numerous power plugs.
One of the greatest things I miss about the UK is their scones 😭 English butter and dairy are just superior and you can really tell the difference in baked goods like scones that rely very heavily on the quality of those two crucial ingredients. Served warm, these were appropriately buttery but unfortunately a tad too dense and heavy. Kudos to the legit clotted cream though.
Almost too pretty to eat. Usually not a fan of eclairs but these were lovely - both delicate and rich at the same time. Matcha flavour was strong (yay!), and I particularly liked the lemon meringue and mango passionfruit ones. However, they were definitely on the pricey side at $7-8 each. You definitely pay for finesse and quality, but I'm just glad that the Entertainer app allowed me to get 6 for the price of 3 😅
