Very impressed by the affordable prices & delicious food! Pair the saucy goodness of these peranakan dishes with either a bowl of white rice ($0.80+) or coconut flavoured rice ($1.00+). I like how the portions are small so you can nibble a little with your friends, & get good variety on the table. Serving sizes are good for 2 pax; for some dishes, you have the option to "upsize" to a bigger portion good for 3-4 people (these are marked with the * below)

Prawn & Mushroom Aglio Olio ($8.30)

Very salty, but good level of heat. It's my first time using Deliveroo & it was delivered only 5 minutes earlier than the delivery time I opted for. Still hot. 🔥 Nice!

BBQ Ribs Full Rack ($21)

This is NOT on the regular menu; apparently a special that Bowen's told us about when we were placing our orders. They have half-rack portions as well. Portion-wise, this isn't as substantial as, say, Morganfield's, but it is good value for money.

The ribs themselves were delicious, & the meat is tender & juicy. However, the BBQ sauce tastes very generic; those who don't enjoy slightly sour/vinegary/salty BBQ sauces may not like this. I scraped off some of the sauce & enjoyed the meat with lil' bit of BBQ flavour; I liked it.

Signature Spaghetti with Wild Boar Sauce ($8.90)

This looks fairly ordinary & even bordering on gross-looking (sorry), but I enjoyed it.

The sauce tastes somewhat like a creamy ragu, if that even makes sense. The standard pasta is spaghetti, but I was offered the Fettuccine option which apparently pairs better with the sauce. I wholeheartedly agree! It scoops up the sauce nicely & with every bite there is a nice portion of pasta with the good ol' sauce dribbling off of it.

I could imagine some folks wanting more meat or ingredients in this dish, but this did not bother me (for some strange reason).

Mushroom Soup with Garlic Bread ($3.50)

The bowl is really really shallow, so don't expect much soup. This makes me jokingly) sad because the soup was tasty & at a good price point! Garlic Bread was crispy yet not burnt. Would recommend this as a simple add-on to your a la carte dishes.

Signature Prime Ribeye Steak ($15.90)
I always eat my steaks Medium Rare, but this was more towards a Medium Well. Probably because it's a thin slab (≈1 cm thick?), so it was cooked over the doneness that I asked for. Surprisingly, it wasn't as tough as I thought it would be.

So the texture was alright, but I did not like how it was very salty! It was way over-seasoned, which is such a pity because the sauce it comes with is AMAZING. Not sure what goes into the sauce (Beef Au Jus?) but it was super beefy yet not pungent. Unfortunately, I couldn't bear to pour it over my steak because there was already so much flavour (i.e. salt) on the steak. For this reason, I'm undecided if I'd order this again.

Norwegian Salmon Steak ($16.50 nett)

One of my usual favourite dishes except different this time - I think when they revamped their menu, they replaced couscous with Orzo Salad? & also it is now more expensive? Still a great steak though, but old-timers beware the lack of couscous 😔

Sticky Pork Ribs ($16 nett)
Tender, almost fall-off-the-bone ribs. Good flavours, I'd order this again. I've never paired pork ribs with Orzo Salad, but it was tangy & went quite well together.

Tuna Salad Nicoise ($14 nett)

I'd been eating all freaking day, so it was time to go for this salad that I'd always been curious about, but never tried because I was always starving when I come here & ain't nobody got time fo salads when hangry.

Turns out this is more filling than I expected it to be! Not as much as a pasta dish, obviously.. But quite substantial. Could be the many salad leaves, could be the potato chunks. I wish they put the dressing to the side, though. If I order this again, I will be sure to ask of this.

Duck Confit - My entrée in the 2 course set meal from Arome. Perfectly cooked, great flavour, everything pairs well with the duck meat too. 👌
