Cakes worth the Calories

There’s a half an hour window where the kitchen team takes a pause (so no hot food will be served during this time) between 530pm-6pm to turn from their Day menu to their Night menu, so we decided to have coffee and cake before dinner.
Turned out to be a wonderful decision.
This Honey Yuzu Cake had lovely fluffy layers of sponge and a brave amount of tang, something I find lacking in most other Yuzu cakes. The next time I order this, I won’t be sharing it!

This Italian joint, equally well known for their pizzas and this shiny number to for a sweet finish to your meal.
Layered with thicc creamy mascarpone and sweetened Sicilian pistachio paste, I loved that they retained the coffee soak within those lady finger sponges instead of removing the caffeine element entirely.
I always have one after my meal here and another one to-go.

Launched a couple of days ago alongside all of their festive offerings, you’ll enjoy this @starbuckssg baked cheesecake as much as I do, especially if you’re into rich creamy dense cheesecakes. Baked with the caramel swirled into the mix, each mouthful delightfully flavoured with the slight bitter-sweetness of caramel and savouriness of cream cheese.
I’ve personally never been a fan of their Cheesecakes, usually found them too sweet, but this one I’m definitely coming back for!

Walk right into the basement of Katong Shopping Centre and allow your nose to lead you. On days when they are open, the delicious aroma of buttery pastry permeates the air.
Their best seller: Banana Coconut Pie
Made with Pisang Raja, it’s encased in a tart shell with flakes of coconut and chopped peanuts on top. Personally not a fan of bananas myself but these I tried after much persuasion and even went in for a second helping afterwards. Bomb diggidy!

Great textures on @churro101sg's churros, crispy on the outside with a chewy centre. Both the dark chocolate coated and desiccated coconut ones were delish!!
My standards for my man are pretty up there so, not better than my boyfriend for sure, but immensely satisfying and nevertheless one of the best churros I've had in a long while!

It doesn't just ooze chocolate; it OOZES STICKY DARK CHOCOLATE AAND SALTED CARAMEL at @bsksingapore!! Accompanied with a scoop of mint chocolate chip Icecream, I couldn't stop digging into it despite how well fed we were. I'm definitely coming back for this. This one tasted of sweet lingering honey from Alsace, had the depth of cereal milk and tangy blood orange.
For an additional 7 bucks, it's paired delightfully with a French Apple Spanish Blue Ginger Tea.

After an extremely satisfying lunch at @nudeseafood, this little slice of chilled cheesecake was a great was to end the meal.
Top layer's soft, creamy, melts-in-your-mouth texture accompanied by a thin bottom layer of soft sponge cake. Small, but impactful.

Part of Pantler's sweet selections. I think the chefs behind these treats truly put in a great amount of effort and thought process before churning out these petit gateaux, flavours are well balanced and best part is, they're not too sweet. This Cassis Mont Blanc's one of my better purchases from Pantler. The mousse and chestnut creme were light in general, the touch of Cassis provided the cake with an additional dimension. Great for after a heavy meal with tea of coffee.
