I was lucky to have the chocolate properly oozing from my lava cake. Tasted alright, but nothing special. Ice cream was hollow in the middle. Could be better.
I like the chicken tikka, which could have been more charred, but not the pizza dough. The meat was tender and pretty juicy ā a saving grace for the dense pizza base.
Aglio olio spaghetti with a few prawns and cherry tomatoes. It was decent, but for the price, they could do with more prawns.
While the seabass is nothing special, the orange fennel salad with beet root quinoa was my favourite that night. Zesty and refreshing. Tasted slightly too healthy for the fish, but it was good!
I can close one eye on the rather tough pork ribs, but the BBQ sauce tastes too artificial. What a pity.
Reminded me of the KFC wrap, except that this one came with deep fried soft shell crab. The wrap filling is rather dry ā it needs more aioli. The sour cream and guac on the side could have been put inside to make the wrap less dry. And itās rather small for the price.
With a hint of spice, the chicken wings were decent. Iād prefer to have them without the cheese sauce though.
You'll see a more classy elegant store, dominated with black and bronze as well as 4 new coffee beans: Papua New Guinea Luoka, Colombia La Union 16, Malawi Sable Farms and Burundi Procasta. They also try to emphasise more on a different experience through 4 brewing methods. One of them is the siphon brewing method that produces a more intense aroma upon brewing and a very clean flavour afterwards. It was a totally new experience for me and I definitely enjoyed watching the baristas skillfuly used the physics-looking-apparatus to brew my coffee.
Another highlight was the pairing of coffee and cakes which enhanced the whole experience of having a cup of coffee. I especially enjoyed the pairing of the Papua New Guinea black coffee and the chocolate cake. It certainly helped to lighten the strong dark chocolate aftertaste from the coffee. So, do ask the baristas for cake suggestions to complete your coffee experience at Starbucks.
Conducted by Terri-Anne (@carrotsticksandcravings), the class was really easy to follow even for a noob like me.
Together with @fishdontpee, I managed to whip up 2 meat dishes and this was my personal favourite of the night: Spicy Grilled Tenderloin with Salsa. Terri-Anne's simple marinade was more than sufficient to bring out the best of the eye fillet, the 'lazy' muscle from the loin beef. The Meat Club's (@themeatclubsg) high quality meat was indeed helpful in making the cooking process so much easier. The refreshing tangy salsa sat so well with the smoky yet juicy beef tagliata and also gave the dish a vibrant colour. Paired with a glass of Aldridge Estate Shiraz Cabernet from Wine Family (@winefamily), the entire meal was splendid.
This was my favourite dish as the squid is fresh and grilled just nice (soft and chewy š). Combining the favourites from BBQ night and Italian Brunch, Alkaff Mansion comes up with a new Italian Gourmet Buffet every 3rd Thursday of the month. You will be spoiled for choices with more than 20 dishes and not to mention their spread of dessert that are constantly refilled to satisfy the sweet tooth in all diners.
Wing Zone tops it up with 15 different sauces to pamper your tastebuds because they believe that there should be something for everyone. My personal favourite is their chicken tenders (breast meat which are fairly tender and juicy, unlike the normal stereotype of breast meat) soaked in Garlic Parmesan sauce. Another shout out will be for their traditional buffalo wings flavour: Nuclear Habanero, which is the spiciest among all but still enjoyable.
For those staying in the North-East line, lucky you 'cos Wing Zone just opened their 2nd outlet just outside Buangkok MRT. They also provide delivery service to areas nearby, so do check them out!
Oozy poached eggs on top of bacon and chorizo with loads of tomato sauce. Wish I could get my hands on this right now.
