Fried Rice
It sure looks boring but it is an explosion of flavours in the mouth. This Lemon Toast ($6.50) comes with a hefty price tag, but Burpple Tastemaker Julius Lim and I both agreed that we'd happily fork out every single cent to have it again.
The toast comes in the form of a soft sourdough, nicely toasted on the side to give a good bite. Covered with cream cheese and lemon curd, expect a mix of creamy, sourish and sweet flavours on your palette. It's easily one of the yummiest toasts I've had!
At $5 a plate, this plate of fried rice is considered to be affordable in the CBD. The portion is sufficient for one, with heaps of rice, a handful of prawns and one runny sunny side up. But it lacks wok hei, which naturally made it just pretty average.
Fried with heap loads of garlic and a super strong fire, the plate of fried rice reeks of wok hei so fragrant, I couldn't help but want to finish the entire plate even though I was full from breakfast. The rice comes with chicken slices, mixed peas, egg and keropok. And you can choose the spice level- not spicy, less spicy and spicy.
SUPER NICE FRIED RICE PLEASE!! So garlicky, so fragrant, so generous with their seafood. Definitely one of the better ones around.
