Good Bargains
Not only do they serve standard zi char items, New Ubin also dabbles in Angus steak and German pork trotters. The famous steak (reasonable at $10 per 100g) comes with potato wedges, caramalized onions and amazing, heart-stopping fried rice cooked in the beef fat. Their standout zi char dishes include the Salted Egg Squid, Har Cheong Gai, and of course, crab!
Mention "Koh Grill & Sushi Bar" and their Shiok Maki will be brought up, no question. Be prepared to queue during peak hours at this sushi place next to the food court of Wisma. Doused with cheese sauce and topped off with tobiko, their Shiok Maki is so popular that there is even a Shiok Maki 2nd Generation. Their Pidan Maki and Crabby Maki are popular as well.
The Sushi Bar is known for two things: long queues and salmon aburi rolls. Their aburi rolls are topped with salmon and mentaiko mayo, and lightly seared with a blowtorch. To-die-for! Be sure to order the Chirashi Don, it doesn't get more value-for-money at $24, with such decadently thick cuts of sashimi! Be sure to make reservations.
