The prawn noodles! Q was really long when we arrive but in less than 30min our prawn noodles ready liao👍👍 the 小鲜肉 is very fast 🙊. Of cos BIG thanks to Gerald Gor Gor for Q-ing😁. Sadly, didn't get to try Lobster and crayfish... both sold out and no beehoon 😔 Their soup is superb!! Eventhough they are officially close at 9pm, it was all sold out at 8.15pm. So please go early...

For cockle-lovers, this is worth trying. Half-shells of cockles are tossed in a vinegary soya sauce with tonnes of raw garlic, coriander, dried chillis and slices of fresh chilli padi. Incredibly hard to stop once you start.

Creamy, rich, and lightly smokey, the al dente noodles are lightly tossed in this decadent squid ink sauce; then topped within bonito flakes and thick slices of fragrant garlic. I've loved squid ink anything since first tasting it 8 years or so ago, but it's not easy to find a great squid ink dish. This however surpassed my expectations. It was clean-tasting, simple, yet bursting with flavours. I especially love the slight Asian take on this traditionally European dish.

If you like escargot, you will probably like this as they both are very similar in texture. Nicknamed "the poor man's escargot", the top shell gets the fancy treatment for a change, and is cooked French-style, meaning it's sautéed with loads of butter, garlic and onions. Personally, I find this very suitable for sharing when having drinks with friends.

Decent rendition with a generous amount of creamy hollandaise sauce, thick pieces of honey-baked ham and cooked spinach. Don't you agree that there's something mesmerising about broken yolks cascading over a terrain of hollandaise sauce-covered poached eggs? For me, this visual is very much a part of the whole experience of eating an eggs ben :)

The tender slices of marinated pork belly are good, but the limelight is almost entirely stolen by the incredibly fragrant garlic fried rice – you can catch a whiff of its mouthwatering pungency before it even reaches the table. The well-separated grains of rice are swathed in a delicious aroma of wok hei, making me want to chase every bite with another.

Flavour Flings is a brand new heartland cafe located in Hougang, bringing hearty brunch servings to residents and everyone else in the area. Recycled-wood furnishings give this place a very laid-back vibe, perfect for casual brunch affairs. Menu items include eggs done in a variety of ways - poached/ baked/ fried, pastas as well as pancakes. Tastemaker Raine Liu recommends Marie's Baked Eggs; 'tomato based eggs with mushrooms and spinach and cheese which went well with the toasted sour dough bread.'

I love eating! Simple as that!
