The black sesame mixes very well with the shaved ice and the nuts. The red beans and vanilla ice cream make great enhancements to the overall taste of the bingsu.

What's the hype? Yes very finely shaven snow, but then what?
SO MANY people looking at me as I was taking photos of this.
One went "Isn't that @danielfooddiary ?" Yah lor, some more I wear very 'lock' today.
Headed down to Neh Neh Pop to try the Mango Sticky Rice flavour but had to make do with this one as they are out of Mango Sticky Rice and I had tried the remaining flavours on sale. Orange Blossom Ice-Cream filled with Baklava chunks and covered with dark chocolate dip covered in nuts, the flavour was rather similar to Fruity Pebbles covered in chocolate and nuts. Not sure if Baklava should taste this way but definitely something different from the usual.
Strawberries and fresh cream sandwiched by 2 freshly made buttermilk waffles and drizzled with maple sauce sealing the deal in. A scoop of white chocolate and blueberry to sweeten the deal. The waffles magically disappeared within minutes between the 2 of us.
Banana bread with yoghurt, caramelised banana, maple syrup and toasted macadamia nuts. More of a soury, sweet dessert to me 😊
One simply cannot leave the Lokal with trying this! Their sticky date pudding with their hocky pocky ice cream! The pudding and the ice cream are of extreme temperature placed in the same plate and bringing the best out of them!

You no longer have to travel all the way to Thailand to get your dose of coconut ice cream served in a husk. The people over at newly opened Pong can help you with just that. Get their bestseller - coconut gelato and sorbet in a flesh-filled coconut husk and served with a cup of coconut juice. Their coconut gelato is dairy-free and their sorbets made from fresh fruits complement the gelato well. A perfect pick-me-up on a warm day!
Durian Creme Brulee. Salted Egg Fries. These are all the reasons you need to pay The Quarters a much-needed visit. Located in Icon Village at Enggor Street, they take inspiration from local Asian flavours to create exciting and unique mod-sin (Modern Singapore) dishes. A sucker for salted-egg-yoke anything will HAVE to order the crispy fries with salted egg yolk dip, and of course, don't leave without first trying their signature durian creme brulee - with smooth, creamy Mao Shan Wang durian custard that's so, so satisfying.
