PSA - This churro is pretty next level stuff. #pimpambyfoc #comingsoon

By the same people behind FOC in Hong Kong Street and Sentosa comes this buzzy joint oozing Spanish flair in Claymore Connect — great for refueling between hitting the shops with the girls. Inspired by Barcelona's tapas culture, this all-day dining joint serves up fun, Catalan food. Many have been raving about the Crab Coquetas ($2.50/piece), which are crisp golden on the outside and in the words of Burpple Tastemaker Veronica Phua, "dreamily crabby on the inside". Each additive, bite-sized sphere is topped with a dollop each of brava tomato sauce and garlic mayo. For something more substantial, try the flavoursome Pork Chop and Scallop Paella ($22), or go straight to dessert! The delicate Skinny Apple Tart ($10), which comes served in a pool of peach coulis and homemade vanilla ice-cream, may just hit the spot.

Well, maybe not. Grilled to perfection, with that inimitable smoky char and addictive crisp, each chunk is a treat of terribly well executed texture. A riot of colours, two things I love on this dish, other than the Spanish octopus of course, are the spring onion tempura — coated in a batter made with squid ink, how ingenious — and the accompanying vizcaina sauce, a rich concoction made with red pepper, sometimes tomatoes depending on whose recipe you follow, that has that right amount of spice to perk up the palate. Ok, that's all.

One of the best octopus dishes in town, the tender, slightly chewy flesh soaking in the earthy olive oil and paprika. Perfectly paired with chunky smashed potatoes.

Octopus Galician style, prepared with paprika, olive oil and potatoes. A must try item from their menu!

Today, I'm craving for these nuggets of crunchy breadcrumbs, filled with chopped button mushrooms luxuriating in the creamiest bechamel ever. Heaven-sent, I'm positive.

Mouthwatering delicious. I love how the caviar bursts and melts in the midst of all that flavor.

Props to that crispy glazed skin, but I really didn't like the gelatinous confit pork belly beneath – it certainly melted, but I'd have like a little bit of a meaty bite before that. I'd say skip this dish, but then again, I know a few people who love the very fattiness that I didn't.

Sea urchin & crab bisque, sea grapes and herring roe. The best! @jeslinka
