A well rested day, accompanied by good ambience and songs. I mean, what can go wrong with oldies and Bruno's "lazy song"?

The stuffed Beancurd with chopped roast meat, fish (cakes), eggs, tofu and veg was a pleasant surprise, and a definite new fave of mine.

The fish and chips sounded boring, but its taste was anything but boring. The fried batter was light, and the fish was fresh. Its wedges were surprisingly unsalted and not over fried, making the overall dish easy on the palate and a joy to eat.

A very good place to chill and fellowship with friends, family or even colleagues alike.

The dish was medium well, but moisture and taste was nicely locked in. The double egg yolk was nice addition, and helped bring out the taste of the beef. The fact that it is hidden at a nice quiet corner of AMK brings out a certain simple rustic charm that is suitable for people wishing to avoid commercialised and noisy eateries nearby. Overall 8/10.

Was rather disappointed by the size, cos I was expecting it to be really huge (shared by mainstream bloggers), but the taste and quality of this dish made up for it by truckloads. Each bite was a different taste, making it interesting with every bite. The tandoori chicken was soft and flavourful, eggs and mushroom (portobello if not wrong) brought a different taste each time, and its mozzarella cheese was an interesting take. Each bite was an adventure, yet the quality was consistent. A must try.

This dish makes the wait, the mistake-filled service, and the ordinary side dishes all worth it. Other critics and bloggers were not kidding: the roasted duck was well marinated, and really had loads of juicy meat, with a generous layer of fat and crispy skin. It is comparable to the roasted goose I often eat (and miss) in Hong Kong. My advice: go for the half or whole roasted duck; don't waste time on the roasted duck rice or noodles. Those dish only serve a miserable portion, and not worth your while price-wise (unless u are a small eater).

A simple dish that was both flavourful and delightful. A simple joy to eat, as the bread was soft while the crust was crunchy. The meat was well marinated and lightly cooked, while still preserving its flavors and juiciness.

Definitely value for money for sushi / jap food / buffet lovers. SGD 40 free flow of 95% of their menu, with generous portions of food served. Freshness and quality, coupled with great service and ambience...definitely a good place to eat, chill and fellowship.

Overall was an interesting dish, with all its ingredients fresh and vegetarian. Soup base was distinctly soya bean, and is one of the better vegetarian places I had, since the mock meat was not starchy or bland.

A good place for finger food like tortilla and fries. The sub was a little too small, and the chicken was a little too dry and overdone for me, although the cheese provided was above average quantity. Maybe the beef selection would have been better.

Blackboys Cubanos makes their way to SIM University from 16 Nov to 19 Nov 2015. Review: bread was soft even after 15mins of cooling down, with some crispness on the crust still evident. Fillings were adequately balanced, although picked jalapeño dislikers may have to be prepared for the tang of sourness in it. Sadly, no real cheese evident in it, replaced by nacho cheese sauce. Personally think all cubanos should have real grilled cheese in it, melted to semi liquid form, instead of nachos cheese sauce. Personally graded at 4/5. Just a personal review from yours truly, the bigtummyguy.

The lor bah noodle was delightfully savory, and although the dish contained two to 3 pieces of the stewed meat, they were big in portion and balanced well with the noodles and its other ingredients. The meatballs in the soup tasted fresh, and not overtly salty and overcooked. The wings were lightly marinated and fried, so I tasted more of the chicken and less of the batter and oil. Rated 8/10 in my books!

Dish was flavor-fully done. Not too salty or overtly salty. Eggs were soft and marinated thoroughly, while the yolk literally melted in my mouth. The meat was tender, not overly far and not hard from over-cooking.
