Might not the most #instagramworthy plate of food but definitely one of my go-to #comfortfood.

Flattened, charred bee hoon that's slightly crisp on the outside, moist and flavorful inside. Hidden beneath are slices of lean pork, prawns, vegetables and egg.

PS: I like this eatery better than the other famous eatery that's located a stone's throw away! (hint: also bee hoon but different style. *coughs*)
Fresh fish with firm, flaky texture yet moist in tangy tamarind gravy. Give me a bowl of rice & I think I can finish the fish by myself!
Nam Kee, an eatery with many years of history & old school ambience, used to be my family's favorite hang-out when I was young. Went back to try after so many years. The chicken is tender, juicy with hints of sesame oil. You can choose to order a minimum of S$3 steamed chicken or S$13 for half a chicken or S$26 for whole chicken. For those who don't like steamed chicken, they have roast chicken, char siew & roast pork. While I like the chicken, the same can't be said for the other dishes. Their rice ain't as fragrant as it used to be and the other dishes that we ordered are mediocre. The prices of the food are reasonable thou', with prices starting at S$6 for a small plate of vegetables. Drawbacks? This place is always crowded so have to go early to get seats. Service ain't really great cos they are always busy so tend to get orders mixed up or forget orders.
