NEW cafe spotted - opened by former DJ Daniel Ong and his wife, former Ms Singapore Universe, Jaime Teo, owner of Twelve Cupcakes and Dulce & Sucre. This 4 days old cafe served crispy pork belly with meat that is crispy and crunchy. Love the fats that melts in the mouth and would appreciate if there is more fats!!

The 18 hours braised pork neck is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Even though it tastes a bit like roasted pork that you can get in hawker center, the former has lesser fat content. Succulent meat that is juicy and not dried up, add a dip of honey roasted chestnut sauce to obtain a balance between the richness in flavour between the two.

The polenta puree is light, fluffy and creamy in taste and not overwhelming. Chicken skin crisps, in contrast to the polenta puree, is the main highlight, is flavourful and not too salty. All in all, it's very appetising.

Iberico pork and fennel topped with tomato and basil with mashed potato. The pork meatball is soft and tender with a slight peppery taste. Topped with tomato that gives a fresh greenery taste, you won't get sick of the meat taste. Mashed potato is soft and creamy which compliments well with the meatballs. I would prefer to have to beef meatballs as it's more tender.

Ordered the wagyu beef and rosemary meatballs with truffled mushroom for toppings and parmesan risotto for the base. The wagyu beef meatball is very tasty, soft and tender. Sauteed mushroom is done well, with a layer of truffle oil that seeps into the parmesan risotto base layer, adding another dimension to the parmesan cheese taste. The parmesan risotto is slightly on the dry side, but it's not too cheesy and overpowering. Would hope that they will present their food on a nicer plate cuz it doesn't fit e western image of this place.

Pistachio Crème Brûlée - the end product when the caramelised vanilla sugar has melted. The first impression is the taste of pistachio and is not too overwhelming, interestingly, followed by an almond after taste . We confirmed with the kitchen that no almond is added. So for nut lovers out there, you will love to try this out!
