Digging into chocolates from @mrbucketchocolaterie 👀
Exclusive to their ✨new✨Changi Airport T3 pop-up boutique, is this cute ‘Singapore Breakfast Set’ chocolate gift box. It comes with a trio of our local breakfast-inspired flavours: Kaya Toast (think chocolate with pandan and lots of crisp toast crumbs on top), Teh Halia (distinct tea & ginger notes) and Soy Salt (studded with housemade soy salt flakes made from fermented black soybeans)!

You got to try the gelato here at GelatiAmo. Couldn’t make a decision so we ordered the Pistachio and 74% Dark Chocolate. Both were really good, in taste and especially the texture. They definitely leaned a bit sweeter but we didn’t mind it at all!

I came across Pompette’s poster at Beauty World Food Centre when I was there for lunch, and definitely had to check it out for dessert!
It was a little tricky to find, but just turn into the back alley behind Victory Boat Noodle Cafe and you will see their white & pastel blue space. Pompette’s softserves are all handcrafted daily in-house with a few staple flavours and topping options.
We had both the Matcha and Hojicha, and while they were not the super thick and rich sort, we liked it!! The Hojicha especially, was roasty and fragrant. They weren’t at all icy, and I liked how they were just mildly sweet (plus affordable).
They offer special flavours on weekends and are continuously exploring new creations - keep a look out on their IG to be updated (I’m eyeing the chocolate and pistachio next) 👀

PSA to matcha lovers for the newest Mister Donut x MORIHAN Uji Matcha Bliss collaboration! MORIHAN is a revered teahouse in Uji, Kyoto with over 180 years of expertise in crafting quality matcha under its belt. It has joined hands with Mister Donut to launch their new Uji Matcha Bliss series. Their 4 Uji Matcha Donuts will be launched in 2 drops:
- Uji Matcha Pon De Ring: 27 Feb to 2 Jun
- Uji Matcha Old Fashion: 27 Feb to 8 Apr
- Uji Matcha French & Uji Matcha Cream: 9 Apr to 2 Jun
Among these, I liked the Pon De Ring most for its chewy texture and the Uji Matcha Cream filled donut for its generous bittersweet matcha filling.
This was one soliddd Christmas chocolate cake we had! The Valrhona Dark Cherries Decadence Cake is a festive exclusive by Fanntasy Bakes - made with layers of 70% Valrhona chocolate cremeux, 62% Valrhona satilia and chocolate sponge on a crunchy base of almond feuillentine. In between the layers and on top, you will find Amarena Cherries included for that additional burst of fruity notes. This was very indulgent, very shiok! The husband and I actually finished it ourselves gosh 😂
All the way from Japan, Warabimochi Kamakura is here on our island, with its first outlet at One Holland Village - pending a second store in Orchard!
LOVED their soft, lightly chewy and smooth warabimochi! 💛 These were generously dusted in kinako and are already very good on its own, but you can amp the sweetness up with a touch of their homemade kuromitsu too.
You can get them in 2-Piece Cup, 2-Piece Cup with Ice Cream and various sized boxes. I’ll be back soon to grab more of these!

Had a midweek sweet tea break at the pretty space of Rise Bakery with colleagues. It’s on the pricier end, but their fragrant and crisp brown butter waffle paired extra well with the white peach oolong ice cream. Eyeing to try the genmaicha flavour next!
Wah these matcha tarts from @dairyandcream were ON POINT, 100% worth trying especially for matcha lovers!
I loved the very clever addition of nutty black sesame layered in between the buttery crunchy crust and bittersweet matcha ganache. It’s topped off with mildly sweet black sugar cream, plus a cute little matcha paw print with a surprise middle.
I much preferred the ones without peanuts for the matcha flavours to shine better and you can request to opt out upon order.
We had the house-made Donut Balls for dessert. They are freshly fried on order and comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, crumbles, blueberries and a sweet blueberry date compote. The outmost layer of each ball had a pretty nice crunch, but it was unfortunately too dense and doughy past that.
