Just Ok
Apparently, I was told this is comparable to 4Fingers. Nuh-uh. Not even close. This particular sauce was supposed to be extra spicy but I'd say it's pretty mild. The sweetness of the mango takes away the heat. The wings themselves were dry & not juicy in the least. Lucky the onion rings ordered as a side dish was not too bad. Overall, not coming back.
To be honest, I expected to be bowled over but what happened was not even close to a strike & for its price ($15.90 I believe) for a food court dish, it's a bit steep. Creamy sauces should be just that; creamy, silky & smooth not watery & broth-like. It's as if you're skimping on the milk. Plus, it's a salted EGG sauce which come on, has to be rich. Slight saving grace? The prawns are fresh.
Finally found a Jajangmeon that's halal! Finally got to try the actual taste and suprisingly, it tasted similar to the one I had made before! So that means I did good, heh heh. It's not meant to be a spicy dish, so maybe because of that I find my bud yearning for it lesser and lesser with each chopstick-ful. Overall, still a pretty decent dish.
They're small & not as spicy as I would have liked. These would be great appetizers for those who can take mild spice.
The lamb was half the size the one at Secret Recipe (SR). Not much meat to really live up to its name. It could do with more of the sauce as well. Overall, the taste is half as delicious as SR's.
Have never eaten at No Signboard before & after hearing some mixed reviews, went there to try it out myself. Quite disappointed as I had expected it to blow my tastebuds out. Only good thing was the fresh & meaty Sri Lankan crab. Gravy was not even a bit spicy (I think the chilli in this "chilli crab" is just as an additional ingredient & not as a spice). It is sweet but the salti-ness of the dish overpowers the other elements. Overall, I wouldn't eat chilli crab here again. I know there are better places out there. Now have to go find! :-)
