Another one of Hee Kee's unique and creative dishes. Using a thin layer of coconut jelly to replicate Chee Cheong Fun, the result was a smooth and silky skin with a hint of pandan fragrance. Found it a slight unfortunate how the fresh mangoes wrapped within easily overpowered the cheong fun though.
When we ordered this, we were originally thinking about it being a Durian Mousse witha dollop of fibres on the top; what actually surprised us was actually it being really a pudding. Smooth and silken, it was served cold with fibres in between for a bite, with the pungent flavour of durian being evident with each scoop. The mousse on the top was bittersweet goodness, and was creamy as well with lots of fibre. A great variation of the usual mousse that we are used to!
Had a Liu Sha Bao too many and starting to get bored about it? The Liu Sha Tang Yuan is probably the next revolution of this well loved dimsum dish in Hong Kong dessert form. A small bite and the tang yuan explodes only to reveal that sweet-salty salted egg yolk filling, which is simply divine. The only qualm was that there ain't enough filling, but again there is just never enough when it comes to liu sha. Comes with a choice of Osmanthus or Ginger soup and in fours.
