Food Places To Go
Average waffle, pretty decent fried chicken. Nothing to go all crazy about tbh! The recommended dish will honestly be the salmon with bacon and bread bits topped with Parmesan. Delightfully seasoned and a very refreshing dish to have in this crazy hot humid Singapore weather. This dish is really the dark horse for the place.
5 Little Monkeys Cafe is a spacious rooftop cafe situated within the Pico Creative Centre in Kallang, catering to the office crowd in the building and nearby vicinity. While sandwiches, brunch fare, cakes and coffee are available, what you should wholeheartedly concentrate on is their selection of mouth-watering Peranakan dishes that warrant repeat visits (once a week is recommended). Priced at only $6.50, their Nyonya Assam Pedas Fish is outstanding ā a generous portion of fresh fish lying in an addictive gravy that goes so perfectly with rice. Also try their Sambal Prawns with Petai ($6.50), and ask for their special sambal sauce to add on if you're a real chili-lover!
Opened by local celebrities Michelle Chong, Cynthia Koh and Daniel Ong, Mischief serves American street food with an Asian twist. Expect food truck-esque fare such as their Sloppy Joes, Soft Taco, Philly Cheesesteak and their signature Chicken Waffle ā the chefās secret recipe chicken thigh sitting atop a crispy waffle. Start with their addictive Spicy Wings, go for their peel-off-the-bone St Louis Ribs, and end the meal on a sweet note with their Muchos Churros that comes with bittersweet chocolate and berry compote dips. An extensive selection of cocktails, wines, beers and spirits are also available for you to wind down.
To try: their charcoal waffle paired with ice cream of your choice tied together with salted egg yolk. Most unimaginable combination ever but it's so good. How the saltiness from the yolk matches with the sweetness of the ice cream. I will highly recommend their earl grey lavender and thai milk tea ice cream. Seriously the best ice cream I've ever eaten so far that are not overly milky or sweet. Do give a try to their banana Nutella (which is beautifully plated) and their interesting lime mojito spheres. Caution: don't bite into the spheres before putting the entire thing into your mouth.
To go for the BEST eggs Benedict ever. I know... Skeptics you are probably wondering how nice it can be BUT trust me on this one. The eggs are cooked to pure perfection, eaten together with all the other ingredients plated... It's just so so good. For coffee lovers, it's even more reason for you to go. They treat their brews seriously.
A burger is a burger is a burger, right?
Wrong.
This head-turner is one of the best burgers I've had. It features a scored beef patty made using juicy wagyu rump ā minced neither too chunky nor too fine, it boasts just the right bite and oozes a beguiling smoky aroma. A garnish of caramelised red onions provides a sweet foil against the robust meatiness of the wagyu, while sidekicks of streaky bacon and golden-brown fries make the dish even more irresistible.
Best pasta dish I have ever seen eaten my whole life yet. How can I not been here before. Authentic Italian pasta, hand made with love. Huge huge variety, good portions, and affordable prices. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants to go to if you're craving for something Italian.
One of the best truffle fries in Singapore. So thin, so crisp. Paired with their kelp and truffle fries. Absolute perfection. Love the way we could order different sides at really affordable prices too (so it's like being able to create your own breakfast set). Thumbs upššššš
Had high expectations coming here for their lobster roll. What surprised me more were their side dishes. Do try their crustacean bowl and their lobster bisque. In my opinion, they were the highlights of the dinner:) their lobster roll was nice but not mind blowing.
For people who lives in the east and wants a good zichar place recommendation. This is THE to go place. Every dish I ate with my family is delicious. Do try their sweet potato leaves with sambal, dinosaur pork ribs and the black pepper crab with Korean vermicelli. Why does this zichar place stand out so much? One word - FRESHNESS. The ingredients for the each dish are so fresh and the prices at affordable $$$. Will definitely be back to try more of their recommended dishes like Assam fish head, and salted fish pork belly ššš
Delicious food. Impeccable service. Large servings of food that is well seasoned. Well mannered waiters and the boss bothered to speak to his customers to make sure that they are well pleased. Nice decoration to the place too. Not too dimly lighted with hints of music allowing conversation between friends to flow at ease without having to strain one's voice. Definitely a place to recommend to go to. Do drop by on Mondays where their steak goes for $19.90++, Tuesdays for burgers at $19.90++, and one for one drinks on Wednesday nights.
Known for its cheap and good Thai food (as they boast on their signboard), Jai Thai has become a favourite for many. Indecisive ones will be glad that they have a mixed platter of appetisers, comprising fishcakes, prawncakes, deep fried Thai spring rolls and deep fried beancurd. The Green Curry Chicken is aromatic and pleasantly lighter, so you can pair it with rice without feeling sick. Order the Steamed Tofu with Chicken Basil; the combination goes surprisingly well. If you're heading there for lunch, consider getting their set lunches that come with a main course, drink and dessert.
