Halal Food - Must Try
This is one of the new burgers on I Am Cafe's revamped menu. I found the homemade beef patty to be slightly chewy but very well marinated with lots of spices. As flavourful as the patty was, it got even more "shiok" with the perfect sidekick - a thick, sweet slice of pineapple. Melted cheese and sweet chilli mayo sauce rounded off my gastronomic fulfillment.
This gorgeously whimsical shop is bound to put you in a good mood with its unique decor and colorful walls. Actually a shop by a French design company, La Marelle also doubles up as a perfect cafe hideout on the second floor along Baghdad St. For a hot bite, go for the stuffed croissant, and finish off with a cup of coffee and a Windowsill pie. *Not Halal-certified, but Halal supplier
And All Things Delicious is Tolido's Espresso Nook's newest neighbour, which offers a wide variety for halal-certified bakes such as Gula-Melaka Scones, Brownies and Galettes. The baker insists on using unprocessed ingredients such as unsalted butter organic ingredients so as to make their bakes taste more "natural" and it shows; clean yet flavourful treats indeed. They also share their shop space with Fictive Fingers that does pretty decent handprinted textile designs, if anyone is interested.
