Best Tea Break
A famed Tiong Bahru Bakery croissant with green tea flavor is a great tea break dish. Thin almond slices covered the top give lots of crunch to it. It’s a pity the green tea flavor is not strong enough.
They usually serve biscuits with kaya and butter. But you can ask for butter with sugar - an old school of eating. The super crispness of the biscuits combined with the soft and sweet butter make it an excellent tea snack. Yummy yummy yum yum yum
Again another HK eatery famous for egg tarts but I prefer its pineapple bun "bo lo bao". Eat it with a piece of butter in between the bun it's truly a HK styled bun. Crispy on top, buttery inside and soft at the bottom. Yummy yummy yum yum yum. Posted by Ah Leong San 2016 August 12.
Hmmmmm... Yummy yum yum yum. A good combination. Gula Melaka not too overpowering and the panda cake is just the right texture. Posted by Ah Leong San 2016 August 5
Flakey pastry and tasty egg custard = yummy yummy yum yum yum egg tart. In my opinion this is better than Honolulu Cafe (Singapore branch) tart. Posted by Ah Leong San 2016 July 18

Subway Niche serves very good nyonya kuehs. Here they have table service so there's no need to take away. There are mee siam, mee rebus, nasi lemak, lontong and curry chicken too. Posted by Ah Leong San 2016 April 4
Heap Seng Leong is a classic old school coffee shop where time stands still. Except for the plastic chairs and plates all else seem to be way back in the sixties. Good coffee and tea plus great kaya butter toast or steamed bread attract a good crowd on weekends to revisit the past with good breakfast. Yummy yum yum yum. Posted by Ah Leong San 2016 February 11
$5 for this lovely and tasty almond croissant and a 2 tea bags cup of tea. Lovely! Posted by Ah Leong San 2015 October 30

To me this is the best part of the high tea. All pastries served are great tasting and it's truly the great end to the high tea. Posted by Ah Leong San 2015 September 21
