Ramen 🍜
A rendition of modern Tonkotsu, with its original broth enhanced with special blended miso paste and fragrant garlic oil. Definitely a hearty bowl of ramen, with every element done well above average. Although its more pricey but I felt it was worth it.
Chose the white bokotsu broth as it was the most popular amongst the others and it indeed did not disappoint. Broth was flavorful and thick, the ramen was thicker than usual but texture was soft and works hand in hand with the broth. Chashu was soft and the crisp at the side made it unique, ramen egg was also well done.
Chose level 3 for the level of spiciness and it felt like I was slurping my ramen in chilli oil at times, wished there was more to the broth. Chashu was thin and tasted okay, the ajitama egg was well done though.
Good option to consider if you are looking for ramen which are reasonably priced, especially when you want a quick and fuss-free meal to fill your tummy. The broth wasn't as thick or spicy as I've expected. Thankfully the generous sprinkle of ingredients made up for it. Also the noodles were just okay, if you are particular about the noodles in your ramen, they are serving curly yellow ramen noodles. Meat was a little chewy too.
Went to this place with high hopes after coming across quite some reviews crowning it the best ramen in Singapore and I agree! Ticked all options against 'Normal' and boy was I amazed the broth so rich and flavorful amongst all the ramen I've tried and thus wins hands down. Might come across as really salty or makes you feel tired of it easily but 'practice makes perfect!' You'll get use to it after a few times! Chashu was much softer and gives way easily too, plus for the price of it I would say you cannot miss having this, more so if you are a ramen lover!
$10.90-$12.90 ramen and rice set (excluding gst) from Men-ichi at Northpoint, Mon-Fri 11am-5pm. There are a few other choices for the ramen and rice. Remember to check out the lunch deals if you're there, be kind to your wallet and have quality food at the same time!
Men-ichi may not be as well known as other ramen chains but they do come up w decent ramen. The one I love whenever I visit them is a spicy ramen which has milk soup base for it too. Smooth, rich and creamy. Ramen tastes springy too.
This makes a decent ramen if you want to satisfy your Ramen craving. At just $7.90 a bowl price is really affordable and its yummy.
I like my ramen spicy and this is right up my alley. The noodles are thin and doesn't absorb the soup even after some time and this is one of the main reason why I like eating Ramenplay's ramen. Soup base is so flavorful, the spicy minced meat is also yummy on its own but I usually stir it. With every mouthful I include a little spring onions, noodles, soup and sometimes the minced meat. I savor the egg with its runny egg yolk 🍳 last as I personally think its quite 'oily' but all is good. Recommend this to all spicy ramen lovers 😋
