Mooncake Season
Making the most out of the festival! The Strawberry Lime Margarita 🍓 one is my favourite from Mezza 9 snowskin collection.
It comes in a really cute packaging and is freshly baked from Taiwan's DTF central kitchen and air flown ✈️ over to Singapore. The good thing about these cakes is that it is made without any additives, preservatives or trans fat.
Similar to their snow skin counterparts, these mooncakes come in a slim and pretty jewel-toned box.
The signature mooncake here is the Mixed Nuts and Ham ($38 for two). If you want something healthier, opt for the Less Sugar White Lotus Paste (single yolk $36 for two, double yolk $38 for two). If you have POSB/ DBS card, buy online at www.crystaljade.com before 13 September 2015 to enjoy 25% off.
👍🏼👍🏼 These SG50 Moon Gem mooncakes (4 for $35.80) from #SwensensSingapore come encased in a working lantern box with LED light and batteries! Also, you get to choose from a variety of flavours like Yummy Yam, Crunchy Milo and Sticky Chewy Chocolate.
They taste as good as they look! With different fillings like red bean and lotus as well as a subtle orange flavour, we quickly polished them off.
These are not only pretty and colourful but also very yummy!
I strongly recommend the Celebration Collection for mooncakes inspired by favourite local desserts. Comprising of flavours like Coconut Yam & Banana, Pandan Coconut & Gula Melaka, Mung Bean & Peanut and Red Bean & Black Glutinous Rice, this collection is not to be missed. I still can't decide which is my favourite out of the four flavours.
Now there's a new kind of mooncake called Momoyama skin mooncake. The cake-like baked skin is made with butter bean flour, and high in protein and low in sugar and fat! You can get them from #bakerzinsg and they come in four different flavours:
1⃣ Osmanthus Lotus 🌸
2⃣ Purple Sweet Potato and Water Chestnut🍠
3⃣ Egg Custard 🍳
4⃣ Green Tea Kumquat 🍵
I'm not a fan of the Osmanthus one and found the flavour overpowering. On the other hand, the Green Tea taste was not strong enough. The Sweet Potato hits the right spot and Egg Custard is great for people who love salted egg items or egg yolk in their mooncakes.
The lotus paste as you can see isn't very smooth as she made a healthier version with no oil.
Updated my blog with more shots of them and find out how you can order them: qiuuing.wordpress.com.
Da Paolo has mooncake crodos for a limited only! And it is only available via preorder (3 working days) on their website. I couldn't even wait to get home to take a picture! Immediately whipped out my handphone and took this.
Instead of just a normal yolk, and you end up with some slices with just a little yolk, they have introduced an egg yolk blend so that every slice will have an even distribution of egg yolk! Quite an ingenious idea, don't you think?
Featuring their mini snow skin mooncakes (from top to bottom: Sesame, Double Chocolate, Coffee Baileys and Whiskey). Read my blog qiuuing.wordpress.com to find out which is my favourite!
