Final mead on the tasting menu, this drink almost KO'd me like its namesake. Likened to a whiskey, this was definitely a slow sipper. Nice and strong with hints of cinnamon and orange in its infusion.
Definitely went well with Fossa Chocolate's Dominican Republic-Ă–ko Caribe 72% dark.
OMG! This had got to be my utmost favorite pairing! Rachelle The Rabbit's Upper Cut is infused with lemon and ginger making it oh so yummy. A recipe that can never go wrong.
Paired with Fossa Chocolate's Chilli Peanut Praliné, which was inspired by satay sauce! I definitely heard a few moans of satisfaction after the first bite (including me lol).
Definitely felt like an 'uppercut' to my tastebuds!
Just like the local drink, this rose-infused mead was permeated with delicious notes of rose.
Paired with Fossa Chocolate's Bolivia-Alto Beni 70% dark, the creamy hints of the chocolate were well brought out.
Rachelle The Rabbit's Liquid Gold tasted as rich as the precious metal itself! Strong hints of nutmeg and cinnamon used to infuse Brazilian honey during fermentation, it warms one up instantly and thoroughly.
Paired with Fossa Chocolate's Haiti-PISA 68%, makes a rich and decadent combination.
Did not regret one bit signing up for the Mead the Maker: Rachelle and the Chocolate tasting session organised by Temple Cellars.
Learnt about (and tasted!) the wine reminiscent mead from local brewer Rachelle The Rabbit Meadery.
First in the tasting course was a special mead not in the market yet, brewed from honey of the stingless bee in Malaysia. Light and not too heavy on the ABV, this mead paired well with Fossa Chocolate's Guatemala-Lachuá 70% dark chocolate. The natural sweetness of the chocolate was enhanced with every sip of the mead
Refreshing and not watered down! Great recommendation by the bartender to have the Turkish Tea & Ginger Soda spiked with Bourbon.
Special cocktail by Anthony at #shingitai in collaboration with 水井坊 (Shui Jing Fang), definitely has a fiery kick! Come get it while it's still available! #burpple
