Brunch
It's amazing how such a simple dish made out of a croissant, scrambled eggs and bacon can taste so good! Love the cheesy ricotta scrambled eggs and buttery croissant. Only complaint was the middle part of the eggs were fully cooked, which I would have liked it better if its a little softer and more wobbly in texture. Otherwise, a very enjoyable brunch at Populus.
I love waffles from Stranger's Reunion, and the waffles here did not disappoint. Soft fluffy golden waffles with vanilla beans ice cream, drizzled with vanilla infused strawberry compote and granola. Yums.
Pulled pork was very flavourful but the sourdough bread was a little soggy, drenched under it. Poached eggs was done perfectly, runny and oozing as you dig into it. Overall, a decent dish.
I've tried Clinton St in Tokyo and immediately fell in love with the pancakes and was excited when it came to our shores! Soft, fluffy stack of pancakes with banana, walnut and warm maple butter in one bite, ... Hmm, what's there not to like? The humongous portion, maybe. Definitely one of the best pancakes around!
The scrambled eggs here is slightly different from your usual fare. The dish came with a bed of fluffy scrambled eggs, with sautƩed mushrooms, rosti and sausage. Overall recommended!
Exploring the east and found this quaint lovely cafe. Wanted to try their much-raved about Hon Dashi Risotto, but alas, it was already sold out by the time we were there. The poached eggs was an interesting dish with 2 perfectly runny eggs on a bed of mashed potato puffs, crab meat and chopped olives.
A lot of times you get truffle infused dishes that smells good but with only very subtle hints (or none) of truffle, but the truffle infused creamy pasta with mushrooms, bacons and sprinkles of Parmesan was lovely. I couldn't find any fault with the dish, though, it could be quite filling to eat it at one go.
Despite being tucked away at a relatively quiet area, 23 Jumpin was packed with people! Maybe it was because it's a public holiday, but we definitely enjoyed the food that we ordered. The honey paprika wings are a must-order! It's finger lickin' good and the dripping fragrant honey just adds to the oomph!
A rather new dish at Group Therapy is the waffles with vanilla bean and chocolate ice cream, honeycomb and salted egg yolk. The waffles were rather dense instead of the fluffy type. Interesting combination with the decadent salted egg yolk, but the waffles were better off without.
Buttery croissant with back bacon, 2 sunny side ups and one bratwurst sausage. Simple yet satisfying and a good change from the usual thick toast.
Big breakfast with creamy scrambled eggs on soft buttery golden toast, crispy bacon, spiced sausages, sautĆ©ed shiitake mushrooms and side salad. It's hard to go wrong with this combination! š
The earl grey infusion was very fragrant when the dish came piping hot. Paired with berries compote and vanilla bean yogurt, it came together well without being too sour, though would have been better if they added ice cream instead. The toast was thick but lack the fluffiness and egginess of a French toast. Overall a decent dish, esp. If yours an earl grey fan.
