Full disclosure, I know the chef so I got to try this before the shop opened! But you know how you can't always beg your friend to make your favourite dish all the time because pai seh? Now I don't have to! I adore this mee siam, it's moreish, tangy but there's a sweetness to the gravy too. It's got right balance of acid, savoriness, sweet and spicy.

Mixed maguro don was yums and the sets are priced very well. Comes with salad, chawanmushi, miso soup and pickles. I don't often need to use the app but tonight I was in a foreign neighborhood so I pulled it up and found this yummy zichar shop 3 mins drive from the (I'm glad it's over) dentist. Lovely battered prawns in a pumpkin sauce were a nice surprise as was expecting fried prawn balls as per the description. Very decent dishes. Also pleasantly surprised by straight talking staff who almost refused to let us order more food because we "had enough". They were right.
