Firstly, this is my message for you today: For God so loved us that He sent His only Son to die on the cross for our sins, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. Thank you Jesus. (and thank you for hot cross buns)

Tons of crispiness, deliciousness and sinfulness. Add that to the whole 'it's a Good Friday morning' and 'this is local food' vibes... Our trip here paid off and we were all happy :)

The quick kinda breakfast taken on your way to work.

Having found this place recommended by many bloggers, I came here on my first morning in Taipei alone. I was on a 12-hour wait to surprise the rest of my family, who had no clue I'd be joining them for their tour for the next seven days. Upon entering what looked like a barely-open-for-business food court, I was surprised to find that seated patrons had similar bowls and cutlery from the same stall. Boy, I guess my research wasn't quite as thorough as I thought it was because I soon found myself following the queue all the way to the ground floor. An experience in itself indeed. Said savoury dou jiang tasted like porridge except the main ingredient was a soft, soy curd instead of white rice. It was the kind of "flavourful" you'd wish for in your porridge - savoury, fragrant and most importantly, served piping hot and fresh. Oh, how I wish my family was there to try this with me!

Tried something different from the usual oat-mix; added scoops of kiwi fruit into my yogurt and a teaspoon of air-flown chia seeds!

Toasted banana, sliced cheese and rolled oats with a dash of cinnamon, ginger powder and brown sugar.

Rolled oats, blueberries, strawberries and a good dollop of non-fat mixed berries yoghurt for the first meal of the day.

I post occasionally; when I feel I have something to say about the food I eat.
