Since there's so many reviews for this beer, gonna keep this nice and short. I don't live on the west coast, so for me, this was my first "west coast style" IPA. Hoppy nose, complex body and a slick finish. There really is a lot going on with this beer, and all of it is wonderful. Had a BBDY of 10/28/13 (impressive, especially when it's all the way in SC!). If you like IPA styles, I don't know why you haven't had this yet. Every craft beer drinker should have this in their fridge. Score: 96/100
Pours an awesome gold/amber color, with great lacing and head retention (something I don't see a lot with IPAs). A bit sweeter than normal IPAs, with notes of grapefruit ever present, balanced nicely with hops, along with some other spicy notes. If you want to get someone into craft beer, or into IPAs, this is a good choice. Drinks easy and can be paired with almost anything since its so balanced. Drink at around 60-65 degrees. Overall: 83.5/100
Excellent, excellent, excellent! This was my first beer from Rogue brewery and it delivered. An excellent Maibock style, it's incredibly balanced and it'll grow hair on your chest. A 6pk is more than enough. DRINK COLD, preferably in the fall or the spring. Not quite a summer beer, wouldn't want this in the winter (when the darker ales are uncaged).
Honestly, I was a little disappointed in this beer, but maybe my expectations were too high. Rather plain, and few flavors/spices make themselves known. Nonetheless, it's still a very solid hefeweizen, and great for a reward after a hot summer's day.
Sweet and citrusy. Nice body for a summer ale. Very drinkable.
One of the best XX IPA's I've ever had. Pairs with most anything, but better consumed by itself
