Also called binatog in other places, here in Imus we call this sticky boiled corn snack "buwalaw". Here, it is sold on the street by a guy on a bike who goes around the city, making his presence known by ringing his bell. Buwalaw is best eaten with salt or sugar, or for some -- both.
We enjoy Tapsi-kret's tocilog so much that it deserves a second post (I already Instagrammed it before). My niece, who in my opinion has a great palate for food, has only good words for it. In fact, it's what she's having for dinner tonight. Me, too! :)
I already had pasta for dinner a few hours ago but I was still able to finish Cafe Juan Miguel's beef salpicao: tender beef cubes cooked with just the right flavor (loved the veggies, too), nice mashed potatoes made the way Ross Geller prefers it (with lumps), and creamy, buttery gravy (my friend loved it!).
Satisfy your longganisa cravings at Cafe Juan Miguel. The place is open 24/7 and they serve breakfast such as this longsilog all-day, all-night!
My mother was a good cook, and her spaghetti was amazing! She always used tomato sauce though. One time, I asked her if she could cook a pasta dish with white sauce. She did: one with longganisa in it. When I saw that Castel's Cafe offers longganisa pasta, I couldn't help but miss Nanay and her first cream-based pasta dish. Good thing Castel's version is close to Nanay's pasta. Now I know where to go whenever I crave for it. Thank you, Castel's.
