Three scoops of The Dark Gallery's signature smooth and creamy dark, milk and white chocolate ice-cream on a bed of crunchy chocolate "soil", embellished with swirls of silky chocolate mousse, crispy chocolate meringue and shards of cacao tuile.

My favourite has got to be the (80%) dark chocolate ice-cream for its intense, bittersweet flavour.

Teh Cho-Co-Lat Gu You Gek ($22, 650g). Sounds like a mouthful but it is actually Matcha & White Chocolate Butter Cake. I like how the names of the new range of butter cakes are in #Hokkien and it's fun trying to read the names out loud.

My favourite out of the six butter cakes from @oldsengchoong although each of them is unique and good in its own way. Won't go wrong with matcha and white chocolate as they are a match made in heaven! Rich and decadent with distinct matcha taste. The subtle bitterness of the matcha is balanced with the sweetness of white chocolate chips.

Purists will adore the Gu You Gek ($18, 550g). Rich and buttery, the Original Butter Cake goes well with a cup of kopi.

As its name suggests, this mousse cake is inspired by the French dessert — Crêpe Suzette (sans flambé). Beyond the peach (colour) exterior lies a multi-layered mousse cake with complementary flavours and textural contrasts — a slightly dense, nutty Santiago tart base; buttery Dulcey cremeux with Valrhona crunchy chocolate pearls; soft, chewy orange caramel; and Grand Marnier infused white chocolate (Ivoire 35%) mousse enveloping the layers. Sounds complex but the components of the entremet complement each other well. Also, the cake is not too sweet.

Bibik's Pandan Jade Yule Log (1kg, $65), one of #EllenboroughMarketCafe's festive takeaway treats. Enveloping the soft and fluffy cylindrical sponge cake is a layer of aromatic pandan kaya custard. The same custard is used as the filling for the log cake too. The custard/agar-like pandan kaya layer has the texture similar to the pandan layer of those Peranakan kueh. Very interesting texture for a log cake. I like! I feel 'healthier' consuming the log cake as compared to the usual fresh cream-based log cakes. #noguilt Light, fragrant and not so heavy on the palate; it's the perfect dessert to serve your guests after a heavy meal on Xmas day!

Homemade pandan kaya with a layer of coconut frangipane, encased in a sweet pastry crust and adorned with toasted desiccated coconut. Loving the intense kaya flavour albeit a little sweet as compared to the other tarts.
Yam paste, or orh nee, is a popular Teochew dessert. Steamed yam paste mashed till fine texture, topped with soft gingko nuts and thin slices of steamed pumpkin and aromatic coconut milk.
So creamy so good!! A great finale to an awesome meal!
Becos all meals should end with dessert. Chef Stéphanie Le Quellec's interpretation of Guanaja Dark Chocolate. A deconstructed dark chocolate dessert. Dollops of chocolate, coffee mousse, chocolate sponge cake & a sprinkle of anise seeds.
3 thick slices of buttered toast (cut into cubes) topped with matcha ice cream, matcha macaron & matcha almond brittle. Drizzled liberally with whipped cream & swirls of matcha sauce. #sugarhigh
Each cube of toast was crispy with slight hint of honey but I wished they were slathered with more butter. The toast crust was hard and difficult to slice through with a knife.
Oh, I forgot about the almost non existent Azuki beans. Was disappointed that my toast came with less than a teaspoon of Azuki beans. Give me more Azuki beans and I will be a happy girl.
The toast was so #instagramworthy and I guess everyone was dazzled by the beauty of the toast, staff included. Some of them were in a daze apparently & it was quite hard to get their attention. That said, some were quick in responding thou'. Well, the cafe is still in the soft launch stage, so bound to have teething issues. Just hope that they will be ironed out by the next visit.
PS: Worried about the queue? Try going on a weekday afternoon if you can. There wasn't any queue when I was there.
