This version is more deconstructed, with the rice rolled in a ball shaped and the chilli flakes, peanuts, dill and ginger served as garnish on top. The flavoured sticky rice was mildly salty with a hint of fish sauce and actually abit on the spicy side even without the chilli flakes. It was bite sized and somehow easy to pick up with chopsticks so each wrap is just a nom away. I don’t usually eat sticky rice but I actually liked the consistency of the rice in this dish, like the chewyness complemented the refreshing piece of lettuce very well!! The chilli added the kick to this fish and the dill for the flavour. This was the perfect starter that most would overlook but somehow this just stuck with me. This is definitely a must try in Laos!!
